Leeming would be worse than Wittering for impact on A1.

Re: Published Aviation Photograper

In my opinion the acid test is do they make a living from it? If not then it's a hobby. Before the internet, digital age and social media there was a feeling of success in getting one's picture published as it would have been the result of the challenges of film, actively sending the slide to a publ...

Re: 28-300 f3.5

If you're talking about the EF L 28-300mm f3.5-5.6, it's a great do-it-all lens between 28 and about 220mm but hopeless at 300mm. It's also very heavy. I use it for short-range stuff but rely on prime lenses for 300mm and above.

Re: Turning back the clock(reactivating airfields)

Cottesmore had a period on care & maintenance in the late 1970s before TTTE moved in - I'm hoping for a repeat some day soon for some Red aeroplanes...

Re: Aviation Rip Off's

Having attended the Marham event - which has sparked this debate - I must take issue with those who say "You got what was promised". I first got wind of the event through the FC post www.fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=159224 on 6 March. Never saw the advertised poster and as I thought it...

Re: Kendrew - upcoming exercise?

RAF Wittering deployed to Kendrew today for Exercise Una Triangle to set up a deployed operating base for aircraft. It seems that it's mostly a ground exercise but hopefully there may be a movement or two. Fingers crossed...

Kendrew - upcoming exercise?

Local rumours of an RAF exercise happening soon at former RAF Cottesmore - anyone know more? Wondering if it's another mobile ATC exercise, maybe this time with real aeroplanes!

MOD Wethersfield

The government has announced that Wethersfield is to be disposed of by 2020 and 4,750 homes will be built on the site. Another Cold War relic bites the dust. :(
