Re: PDA

Just back from Conn. BBMF was a bit pedestrian but the Typhoon display was fantastic. After the last Dakota slot the Spitfire took off pedal to the metal followed by the Typhoon in its superb livery and gave an absolutely brilliant demonstration of how it can be done. I consider my tax paid this yea...

I am going with your idea now Tim, my option would be a nightmare trying to control FOD.

Re: Runway

I know nuffink, however if we are into speculation and if indeed the land to the east of the A15 is to be used then I would think two sets of railway crossing gates would be needed to replace the lights on the road. To avoid backtracking they would also need to extend taxiways.

Thanks Mike. Cannot think why but I thought it was carried out away from base last year, must have been a practice.

Slogans to fly by.

I am chancing my arm here but I believe it is on topic because the information is from and about military aviators. I came across this website of my old flying club when researching the ac I did my first solo in http://laarfly.co.uk Click the link on the left On Silvr'd Wings and on the next screen ...

Re: Flying Squadrons Return To Royal Air Force Wittering

Excellent news. God forbid I should ever be pedantic but as my military service was with the Army I have to take issue with the news article which states that: "Now it is the turn of units from No. 3 Flying Training School , an RAF organisation headquartered at RAF Cranwell, responsible for the Elem...

Re: Prestwick 3rd February

I accept that Grey Ghost (hate using screen names) but my only clue was that it is carrying the squadron crest of No1 Elementary Flying Training School a part of which is based at Cranwell and not the Strathclyde and Glasgow University. It would not be the first or last time I have been wrong.

Re: Prestwick 3rd February

I am confused, the Grob was using a Cranwell call sign because he is based at Cranwell. Fantastic quality photos. John Visitors today were a couple of Canadian C30Js and the KAF C17 on its regular run albeit a couple of days late arriving. Finally one of the Glasgow UAS Grobs did a touch and go usin...

Re: Russia exercises with Il-76 'bombers'

Don't take this too seriously as I am a little bored but if this idea comes to fruition it will be a hybrid and its NATO designation of Candid will no longer apply. It will be both a "Bravo" and a "Charlie". I repeat this is not to be taken seriously.

Bing, Yahoo and Gogle [BOT]

I have noticed that the list of those browsing the forum at the bottom of the Board Index page include the subject items. They may have been there before and I have not noticed. Will they compromise my information, I only ask because they look a bit evil but this could be simply my lack of knowledge.

Re: Pilot buzzes Berkeleyside Media to say Hi to Brother

Sorry guys, reality check. Had this been an RAF pilot he would no longer be flying or in the RAF. An American pilot who did something similar recently is also now a non flyer and I think this moron is destined for the same naughty step. Biggles is dead.

FS S Dryburgh

Noticed the citation under the cab of ZK339 dedicated to FS Dryburgh. Does this refer to a Dryburgh is/was in 17 Sqn or is the story more complicated.
