Re: RAF Coningsby - Turbo1 Practice 04/04/24
Lovely set. Some superb shots and I agree that it's nice to see some colour coming back to the fleet. Hope this will progress to the F35's.

Apart from the screaming of the four P&W TF33 jet engines! Nostalgic.

Kings Birthday Flypast 15th June
Might as well start this now as notification of rehearsals has appeared in the local paper. Rehearsal will be on 3/4 June and aircraft involved will include Tornados according to the paper! Maybe the RAF will borrow some!https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/24206117.military-aircraft-flyovers-norfolk-suffolk...

Re: V-22 Osprey Grounded
Don't expect to see the USAF Ospreys flying any time soon though. Quoting from the above article, a phased return to flight is planned: "Phase one of AFSOC’s return to fly plan includes ground and simulator training integrating planned flight controls, safety briefings, a review of maintenance recor...

Re: Google Earth F15's
So the HAS's are now redundant? From what I hear they are very difficult to demolish - for obvious reasons!

Google Earth F15's
Just been looking at the current image of Lakenheath, which is dated13.06.2023 and it shows a line-up of 31 F15's on the South ramp. Seems unusual to me as I thought that they are normally in their HAS's. Also a C17 on the North side plus 5 f35's and two f15's on the taxiways. Was this some special ...

Re: Last Chance Point
Also when the F-35A arrive at the EOR there are no pins to remove. If the pits are in use the Eagles shut down one engine and will stop again at the last chance with ground crew while the second engine is spun up. The F-35A on the other hand pit and head straight to the runway. Very noticeable how ...

Last Chance Point
F15E's and their predecessors always pull in to the LCP for final checks before departure and until now F35's have continued past for take-off or holding on the other side of the runway. I notice recently that F35's have been pulling in to the LCP bays, but no checks are carried out by ground staff....

Nice looking aircraft. Similar to one of Mitsubishi's products if I remember correctly.

All that said, it's perhaps a bit ominous in light of recent events. Maybe a build-up? Biden will want to show his muscle in advance of the election.
