Re: Boscombe Notam closed till Midday 29 Feb
Hi, this is a complete stab in the dark and pure speculation but could the increase in Crash Cat have anything to do with 2Excel's 'Excalibur' flight test bed (ex Titan Airways Boeing 757-200) that was operating out of Boscombe a few months back? Maybe it's making a return? I guess time will tell, ...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread
First, you don’t know what is and isn’t flying; even the planners in DBH won’t yet. Second, DBH can ask and ask and ask but ultimately can only put in the flying display that for which they have permission. The can ask, absolutely. But I'd there's no f-16 demo, then how can they ask. As far as I kn...

Re: Mallet Blow exercises ??
Recognise a few of those names Pete, also Keith from Maryport(?), sadly no longer with us. Tristram was a top bloke, I think he rejoined the RAF as a reservist Air Traffic Controller and did a tour in the Falklands. There was also at one point, a Para Major FAC, Scottish bloke, looked a bit menacin...

Used to happen a fair bit... hope you got a shot? The usual FAC at Wiley Sike was a top bloke called Tristram if anyone remembers him - think he was TA?. Guess they dont do 'bombing' at Wiley Sike these days? "Tristram" that name rings a bell. I assumed they were all Special Forces, as they looked ...

Re: Mallet Blow exercises ??
I'm not quite an old fart, but yes. I was part of the "Thursday club" at spadeadam for around 18 years. Had some incredible times. Alwinton and Ros Hill were also favourites of mine. Remember standing up on the hills with the F3s capping overhead and pouncing on the extreme low level gr1/4s, harrier...
