Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2019 Mont-de-Marsan

I'm glad the sun was behind the cloud and rain today as the sheer heat would have killed all runway shots for everybody. Wow, there’s trying to take the positives out of a rough day but...seriously? Maybe it’s just me but surely for most photographers a bit of haze and decent light has to be prefer...

Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2019 Mont-de-Marsan

Does anyone know which runway is in use today? We're heading that way now. A really nice, well organised tigermeet. Yes, there were lots of aircraft did not attend and the weather wasn't that great on the day, but a splendid time non the less. I'm glad the sun was behind the cloud and rain today as...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

Update- Rain is forecast! Major John 'Rain' Waters of the Viper Demo Team is confirmed for RIAT 2019 flying the F-16! His display marks the first time for over a decade that we have welcomed the USAF F-16 demo to the Air Tattoo. We can also confirm a flying display from the CV-22B Osprey as well as...

Re: Typhoons and Tail Chutes

They are still used, but I believe that they are only used during IFE, heavy landings or low brake pressure scenarios. The typhoon is more than capable of stopping on short runways without a chute.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

Seems a bit of an underwhelming update today just the Finnish F-18, I was hoping for a bigger update and more static to be confirmed but seems that's all getting confirmed for this week. I am not one to criticise RIAT or DBH as they do a great job but the list so far does seem a bit small compared ...

I'll be taking a ladder, no need to run to get the best spot and I'll have a bit of elbow room to take photos. With 2-3000 spotters it has the makings of being a bit of a scrum at the front.
3000 spotters? Sure its limited to 1500?
