Have heard that 12 are due tomorrow afternoon, and 6 on Saturday.

I don't really care about numbers or what letters are written on tails, I just like the change overs because they often happen outside working hours!

With the rule changes next week planning on heading up for a day or two. Wind looks pretty sketchy on Monday, but I think i'll chance it for the morning practice. Fingers crossed!

Looks fantastic. I've got a 1/32 Tornado in the stash so feel quite inspired to dig it out.

Now THAT is good news. I think we can all agree this is something that will at least probably happen!

Re: Lakenheath spotters carpark

The government is intending to mean physical recreation, e.g. going for a walk, not sitting in your car waiting for something to happen at an airfield. there is also the often overlooked mental health benefit of just getting out of the house, for someone less able it's just as important as someone ...

Re: Lakenheath spotters carpark

I am afraid I must disagree, you are allowed to go to a public space for recreation. Going to sit at the end of a runway or pull up at the side of a road to get a number is not recreation under any circumstance. What on earth is it if not recreation!? recreation1 /ˌrɛkrɪˈeɪʃ(ə)n/ noun activity done...

Re: Newbie

Hi Vaughan, I spend a lot of my free time playing DCS - which is a combat flight sim, and I would highly recommend it. It is quite daunting at first, but well worth the effort once you begin to understand it. If you are especially keen to fly over the UK, and not bothered about combat - FS2020 is su...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2021 - Tickets on sale

It seems pretty clear that Covid is a seasonal disease. Bear in mind as well that excess deaths are still around average for this time of year. I think its incredibly unlikely that there'll be an unusually bad health situation come the Spring, let alone the Summer. When you consider that RIAT is vi...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2021 - Tickets on sale

Maybe i'm kidding myself, but given that international air arms are stil engaging in military exercises - I wonder if there's a chance they will put the event on but totally isolate the participating crews from the crowd. I visited a motor racing event a couple of weeks ago and the paddock was total...

Re: Yorknight 2020

Cheers Tony. Despite being a keen spotter i've never been to Leeming before so any advice on viewing positions would be appreciated. I've seen the map on pb-photos (linked on FC) but more specifics would be great if anyone has recommendations and example pics. Also local facilities (toilets, food et...

I'll take my chances in the morning at Leeming. Hawk T.1s are getting fewer and fewer!

I guess it'll be pretty busy with spotters as the day goes on anyway?

Re: Yorknight 2020

... and it can't have been that bad if you went most days! :)

Maybe i'll regret it but i've booked a hotel and a day off... if there's no Hornets i'll go to Elvington, and if Elvington gets closed due to Covid i'll just have to go sightseeing at on the Moors!

Wish me luck...
