Re: F-35 coding update

Thanks - very good to know!

Presumably the ones at Edwards will leave service after their development lives are over? Wonder if we could see one at a UK museum.

Re: F-35 coding update

It would be interesting to know where all these airframes are right now. Guessing only a few are properly 'based' at Marham?

I have to say - this forum has been responsible for some of my best aviation catches over the last few years. Thanks to everyone who is involved!

What a shame. I was thinking of visiting Malta with the family for this next year... probably go to Belgium instead!

Re: B52

No problem - thanks! Is your info available publicly or is this from a contact in the know? Only asking as if it is public I can check myself!

Fingers crossed for an evening dep. tomorrow so we can go after work!

Re: Cobra Catch Up

Best CW set i've seen yet.

Creativity is sometimes a bit lacking in aviation photography and this set shows there's more to life than getting sharp pictures. The F-15 top sides are a delight. Nice one!

Re: Börgönd, Hungary - 2019

I didn't realise the Hungarians still flew Hinds! I was almost going to make a RIAT related comment but... it's September...

That last photo is just great. I almost ducked when I saw it.

Good to know. How frequent are the flights? Just wondering if it's worth making a trip after work.

Flying pattern

Hi all, I live locally to Wattisham but very rarely visit, preferring to use my time off to go up to the USAFE bases instead. I wondered if anyone knows what sort of routine (if any) the Apache flying takes. It would be good to know if there are typically waves of flying, and when things tend to wra...

Re: Fields around the Waddington approaches

Quite right Thunder.

I've never, ever, had problem with any base security. They've got a job to do, and we should all be glad they're doing it! Always worth saying hello and explaining what you're up to in my experience.

Re: Waddington and the A15 (Photos)

In my opinion this 'the Israelis have requested to use Rwy02 for security reasons' nonsense was probably made up by somebody who actually has no clue really and it has become yet another 'rumour' that people insist on spreading, and believing! The Eagles might request to depart off Rwy02 because it...

Re: Waddington and the A15 (Photos)

Isn't it up to the Israelis to determine their own security along with the UK military? I'm sure they know more than we do and therefore better placed to decide. Yes of course - I just don't understand it. I'm not saying it's wrong, but if the visors are down and there are no identifying patches - ...

Re: Waddington and the A15 (Photos)

It's to do with security risks. They have brought their own personal security over. They are not to wear any identification badges and always must have the visor down. They don't want any identifying images of them getting in to the hands of the Palestinians. It's only a rumour at the moment, will ...

Re: Waddington and the A15 (Photos)

Hasn't it been stated that the IDF aircraft will be departing from 02 regardless of the wind direction presumably negating the possibility of photographs of the crew. I can't really understand this... they'll have their flight gear on anyway, and they've already been photographed landing on 20 anyw...

Re: Waddington and the A15 (Photos)

I'm not a numbers man - but there is something exciting about real life Israeli fighter jets. I can't place it myself, but the excitement is real. There's also something really nice about heading to a base and potentially seeing such a wide variety of types. If we're lucky we'll see a 707, Typhoons,...
