Cant see the folks at Sleap airfield, which is inside the Shawbury Matz, being too happy at not being allowed to operate if Shawbury was an option.

There has been at least 3 a day AN-124's everyday for the last week or so. Saw this earlier in the week but the weather was pants. The unmanned Helicopter was being demonstrated Yesterday. That's the last from here for a month or so as i fly back this week for a well earned rest.

I served there in ATC for 18 months in the early 1990's , there was all sort of rumours about the Aurora being there and all kinds of other mumbo jumbo, including an undergrounf hangar. I am afriad certainly whilst i was there thats all they were rumours. The hangar was big enough to get 2 P-3's in ...

Kev from a spotters pont of view it would be fantastic just for the amount of IL-76 and AN-124 /b747 cargo flights we are getting at the moment..

Tony it is interesting over there but definetley non photography friendly.

This place changes almost daily!! AV-8B's arrived a number of weeks ago and as for the UAE you can go weeks without seeing them tnen C-130's C-17 and DHC-6 turn up!!
