Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

M5 closures are overnight. 20.00 - 06.00. (Info from National highways website).
Thank you, hopefully the A417 works should be easier on Saturday than on a Friday, Fridays are always bad on the roads.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2024 General Discussion Thread

Anyone from the North West, avoid using the M5 - A417. There are horrendous road works on the 417 from the Air Balloon roundabout. And the M5 northbound is shut from Strensham services - massive diversion. You might be better to go via M6 - M42 - M40 - A40? Has anyone else had problems here, I am h...

Re: 2024 tickets

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but is it just the advanced park and view tickets that have been sold out and more will be released on a week by week basis ?

many thanks in advance.

Re: US Military aircraft tracking

Sorry but I thought the whole point of ADS-B and Mode-S was to be visible to everyone to make the skies safer. I am a novice when it comes to other modes so sorry if this is a silly question, but can someone tootling around in a Cessna be alerted to a front liner coming his way without mode-s in unc...

Never seen such a pedantic and disrespectful post, and this wasn't the only one.
Good for you, coming to a post over a month after it was posted, when the context has changed. Well done!
And another one.

Re: hercules c1300

I think you're in the wrong place? This is the Fairford Bomber Deployment section (it's happened, it's over). Where was the Hercules circa 1300 hours? Or do you want to know about the Roman god, Hercules, who would have been dead for well over a 1000 years by 1300 AD. Finally, who or what is retiri...

Low paid 24 hour shift warehouse monkeys
I know someone who works in a warehouse who would be only too happy to have a chat with you about your preconceptions of the folk who work there.

Re: Planespotting documentary interview opportunities

I reckon that about 99% of FC members absolutely detest being classed as 'plane spotters', I know that I do, I'm an 'aviation enthusiast' and have been for over 5 decades. :) Does the successful applicant for the interview need to wear a camouflaged jacket covered with aviation patches, wear a base...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2021 - General Discussion Threaf

There is no way it will happen. He vaccine cannot be rolled out quickly enough. Most attendees are low down the priority list and are not going to be . done by july. What about the overseas visitors? RIAT has a large number of these from all four corners the globe! If the Oxford vaccine is cleared ...

Re: Traffic issues

Hi Johno, I Didn't get up as early as EGVP did so I arrived in the car park about 9.30 and left about 7.20pm. I expected to be held up with the 'masses'. However was pleasantly surprised. Maybe I just got lucky. I thought it was very well managed. Hope you have a good day. Cheers John 'flightpath'....

Re: Traffic issues

Hi, just for a matter of interest what time was this ? also ironically I usually do the Friday show days because its quiet, but it makes...

A good offer, but it sounds like it could be a repeat disappointment of the enthusiasts day, I will cut my losses and forget another 5 and a half hour drive.

At least I will be there on my own for the next event while you all stay outside. 😎
I see you are from King's Lynn, when you have spent most of the day travelling to get there and back, you see things in a different light.

Re: RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day 21st June 2018

I personally drove 6 hours to photograph 3 aircraft, 1 Tornado on a Tornado base !!!!!!!!!! last time was better, most of my shots have trucks or dumpers in the background. It was very poor.

Re: RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day 21st June 2018

The highlight for me last May was the "hot" tornado taxiing in and being able to photograph the pilots and ground crew going through the usual procedures right next to us, that was priceless, and lets face it, that will not be happening for too much longer :-(
