Re: Another Exercise for Waddington
Believe the last French Navy E-2 at Waddington was 2008, I remember two popping in for short detachments around that time.

Re: Red Arrows in Turmoil ?
The final display for the closure parade at 16:45 consisted of solely the Synchro Pair. 7 passes and the heart. A very embarrassing & lacklustre way to close of 106 years of flying from the historic station. The Lancaster was the star of the show hands down flying over the parade low whilst the coll...

Re: Hawks at Boscombe Down
I believe they may be owned by QinetiQ........ No, nothing to do with QinetiQ. These are (about to be were) the RAF's aviation medicine aircraft. Unit lodges at Boscombe. Not quite, the two Hawks were maintained by QinetiQ personnel and occasionally flown by civilian QinetiQ employed aircrew, altho...

Hanna is the new name for the back four as "Gypo" has been deemed no longer appropriate. As you say nice nod to Ray Hanna one of the original Red Arrows team leaders.

Re: RAF Scampton Heritage Centre
Hi Ollie,
I can confirm that our SU-22M4, F-4F & Hunter T.8 are still on display in the Heritage Centre on station, for all to see. Visits have started again as of two or three weeks ago, so drop them an email and get booked in. It's a fantastic tour.

Re: Who Wants To Buy An Airfield?
RAFAT will move to RAF Waddington in late September 2022, to operate out of the Sentry hangar and Alpha dispersal. At this point all flying from Scampton will cease and ATC will shut for good.

Both Gulfstream and Hunter T.72 are undertaking work with ETPS, but that work is unrelated unlike with the learjet. Hunter is there for another fortnight I believe.

Re: Ladders at Waddington
Steps are a neccessity in the spotting and photography game. As for Waddington specifically, ladders have been used responsibly there for over 20 years on the side of the A15 and have only been highlighted a problem during this recent shambles of an exercise, being heavily criticised on social media...
