Re: F-15 Kenneth Allen 15/6/20

Was that the 3 F-15's trailed by a fourth I saw a little earlier from miles away? Perhaps the end of a missing man flypast?

...and the winner for the tallest ladder goes to.........

Wonder what the Americans onboard the VC-25 thought of the largest selection of ladders in the East of England?

This explains why Homebase never has any stock!

Re: WHO WANTS TO BUY AN AIRFIELD?

Shame, such a historic base - Some of the buildings should be listed and preserved as a heritage museum from their connection/involvement with the devastating but effective Dambusters raid.

Great photos, thanks for sharing them.

Many fond memories of Airfete, from burgers to sun burn!

That UH F-111E - isn't that the Aardvark that is in the AAM at Duxford?

Re: Patrouille Suisse F-5 down

I thought it would be in more bits, but the snow seems to have been quite forgiving.

Lucky there was no avalanche afterwards, imagine that ejecting only to be wiped out by the avalanche your plane made when it hit the ground.

Glad the pilot is okay.

Re: 20th Anniversary of the last Airfete

Great photos everyone, brings back lovely memories. All photos of that last Airfete are welcome here. I'm not sure I took any photos at that Airfete, if I did they would've been truly awful point and shoot camera shots! Even the selection above is proof alone that back then, 10 years after the wall ...

20th Anniversary of the last Airfete

Lets see all your photos of the last Airfete :thumb:

Who knew it would be the end of an era, at first it seemed to be just a year out, then 911, then it never returned.

Re: Garden spotting OTT'ers

It was very, very bright, it took me quite a while to spot it, combined with the sound being 'behind' due to the altitude.

Would've loved to have caught it with the tanker, but one day :thumb:

Re: E7 Wedgetail order reduction

The MoD already has a way of using very small fleets of highly valuable assets to meet some of its most critical needs (Nimrod R1, RC-135, Vanguard, Astute, etc.) so I expect the powers that be are already familiar with what they need to do to be successful. I guess there are many, many more 737s c...

Re: E7 Wedgetail order reduction

Crikey, three aircraft.......one goes tech, only two others, one primary and the other a backup - sounds like a quick way to retire some more modern tech.

F-15 alarm clock sounds much better than being woken in the very late hours by the C-130s and Ospreys of the 352d SOG.

Either way, I love it!

Mule 95 Bottom side

Not as great as the top side post, but the bottom of Mule 95 as seen from my garden over Tuddenham way. Just nice to see an RC-135V doing circuits rather than the usual home boys and E-3 :D only 800ft altitude according to ADSB I believe. http://www.glowingheat.co.uk/fightercontrol/mule951sm_.jpg ht...
