Re: Lakenheath - nuclear store

LN has always had the capacity to house nukes, so they’re probably already there, or have always been there locked up in the WSA?
Who knows what comes and goes aboard the C5s & C17s?

Guy Martin!

He’ll get 558 moved with a box of spanner’s & screwdrivers and a few oily rags! Channel 4 could make a programme about it too, then when 558 lands or lorrys into her new home everyone can go home in time for tea & medals! Job done!😆😆

Re: Budget DSLR For Novice?

Hi all, I'm still undecided on which camera to go for. I quite like the attraction of an all in one bridge camera, but it's just that long range zoom quality that I'm not sure about. I'm just wondering which cameras can go long range without suffering from a deterioration in image quality. The searc...

Re: Budget DSLR For Novice?

One camera I've looked at was a Nikon Coolpix P900. Has anyone used, or able to give their thoughts on this model?

Cheers,

Re: Budget DSLR For Novice?

The cameras which I currently use are a Nikon Coolpix L340, and a Canon SX170. Both cameras are good for portraits, close ups and landscapes. However, at long range and against fast moving objects the cameras clarity really deteriorates. My favourite of the two is the canon for its size and ease of ...

Budget DSLR For Novice?

Hi all, Before posting this I've been trawling through old posts looking for advice on a budget DSLR set up for a newbie. I'm just looking for a DSLR which can be used for all round photography plus a lens for all round photography and another zoom lens for the occasional fast aircraft shot. I'm not...

Re: Reapers Benty Bash 2018

Great pics there! Me and my son were on the walk too, we had a really enjoyable day. Sad to see some of those FGR.2s looking in such a sad state, I believe they are all up for sale on the Everett Aero website. I also noticed several Tornado front windscreen assemblies lined up on the ground along wi...

Re: Clacton Airshow - 23rd-24th August 2018

Great show on Thurs, but I couldn't make Fri :( . Highlights for me from Thurs were the Hangar 11 Mustang (some superb manoeuvres from that) & The Great War Display team  . The Reds were good, but it certainly wasn't the best display I've ever seen them do. I think the patchy cloud was causi...

Re: UK Low flying 1970s, 1980s

One of my most vivid memories of 1980's low flying is when a solo Phantom FGR.2 from 56sqn at Wattisham was flying circuits around Brightlingsea in Essex one afternoon. It was flying a triangular circuit and it went around several times before bu@@ering off! The noise was incredible and it was so lo...

Re: UK thunderstorms. Friday 27th July 2018.

Clear blue skies here in Colchester and was hitting 30 degrees at 09.30 this morning.
No sign of any storms yet, but I could see the high anvils out to the west which were the storms floating up the western edge of East Anglia this morning.
