Re: Derwent Valley / Ladybower in the peak District
I too live locally. I don’t do much photography these days but when I did, I went out to Ladybower a few times. Apart from special events (Dambuster anniversary flypasts, Canadian Lanc fly through), it was always very hit and miss (mainly miss). As far as I know, there’s no way of telling when it wi...

Re: Problems with picture DVD/CDs
Have you tried VLC which can play most things? You can download it free from here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html. Make sure you download it from the web site. Don't use the Windows Store app.

Re: RIAT 2018 Awards
Jem60 's comments are thought-provoking as always. I know that the Frecce had that horrendous accident at Ramstein but have they had one since? What about the Patrouille de France? Or the Patrouille Suisse? I dispute the contention that "flair" and "exciitement" equates to "dangerous". It's not just...

Re: RIAT 2018 Awards
I know it's very much a matter of personal taste, but I found all the RAF displays underwhelming, with the exception of the Chinook. Don't know why that is - they are obviously superbly flown and precise, but somehow lack the panache of some of the foreign participants. I have no arguement with the ...

Can anyone supply the serials of the four Hawk T2s that flew past at about 1720 on Sunday?

Cleethorpes Armed Forces Day June 30th and July 1st 2018
We're planning to take the grand kids to this event (their first air show). I've not attended before. It would be great if anyone who has been could give advice regarding best locations for viewing and parking. Also, is it worth me taking my cameras?
Many thanks

Good report on the Radio 4 Today programme by Sarah Montague from Marham this morning. Also a short clip of her trip in a GR4 on the Today web page. Well done Sarah, you're braver than I would've been!

Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere, but will the RAF Museum at Cosford be opened to the public the day before the Air Show?

Re: monopod?
I find mine a bit cumbersome, but it's useful for taxiing shots of prop aircraft. It helps when I used a slow shutter speed to get prop blur.

I have not been on any of their overseas trips. I have been to a workshop on Lightroom that Rich Cooper organised a couple of years ago in the Vulcan hangar at Finningley, which was excellent. I have been on photoshoots with them at Marham, Bruntingthorpe (to photograph the repainted LPG Lightning),...

Re: Windows 10 Dvd issues
Hi again, Pune. I've done a bit more checking, and apparently the VLC app available from the Windows store doesn't support DVDs, so you'll need to install the desktop version, available from here:
https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-w ... en-GB.html
Hope this helps.

Try downloading and installing the free program VLC which is said to play every audio and video file you throw at it.
