I'll throw in one just to boost the numbers. RAF Tornado at Greenham Common 1977 (or 78? - it was the year of the Tiger Meet)

Re: Wanted. Your old unwanted B&W Negs.
If you are planning to scan them in I could just email you the images which you could save directly to your computer. save you a bit of time and effort - and be quicker as I know where they are on my computer as opposed to going through a box of a mountain of negs! But you're welcome to the negs.

Re: Wanted. Your old unwanted B&W Negs.
I've got a few dating back to the 1970s which I've already scanned into my computer. I'll see if I can dig them out for you. Would you want aircraft related ones - airfield fire tenders?

Re: Northolt Photocall 2008
Great collection of photos. Never anything like that when I was based there. I do remember a small wire fenced enclosure for 'spotters' which was accessed from West End Road near the end of the runway. I had to get permission to carry a camera at work and the get the permission of the crew to photog...

Re: Five a day - Part 69
Used to get these at Northolt occassionally, but only managed to grab a photo of one. The spiral on the spinners was a hazard - had a chap marshalling one suddenly start to walk straight towards the prop, sort of hypnotised.

Brings back memories! I did my trade training on Pembrokes at St Athan - and was then posted to Wittering to work on Harriers and Hunters . Didin't see a Pembroke again until I was at Northolt when we used to get the 60 squadron ones visiting.

These bring back memories! Wildcat markings so 1974 onwards, previously had the 'grasshopper' emblem on the nose. Worked on these 1973-5.

Re: Five a day - Part 28
One I won't forget in a hurry. Had one of these arrive at Northolt and the usual practice with a large helicopter was to land them and then taxi to the required slot. This HEER craft came in, I 'landed' him and indicated to move towards me upon which he promptly lifted off - after a few attempts a c...
