Re: Miscoded Puma 03C305

Thanks JB.

I read it from underneath as either K, R or X - so XW220 / K would tie up nicely.

All the best,

Miscoded Puma 03C305

Hi,

Does anybody know which Puma flew as SHF365 on Monday 10th March, with Hex miscode 03C305?

It came down south as far as Southampton that afternoon, and several locals are interested in its ID (as it's probably the last time we'll see one flying).

Many thanks,

Re: Herc's at CBG September 2024

Don't know any lay-bys on Airport Way but there is Crash Gate 4 near the 40 sign and opposite the 23 threshold. Zoom in on Google enough and you'll see a tiny 4. There is also a crash gate with verge parking under trees almost straight across from 4 but no good for planes amongst the hangars. Also ...

Re: Herc's at CBG September 2024

Thanks for the updated list chaps. I'm passing Cambridge next week for the first time in many years (>20 years). Could you supply locations or lat / long where to get any view of the foreign C-130's? Is it still a lay-by off Airport Way? Can anything be seen from the northwest / hangars side of the ...

Re: Ukraine claims first Su-57

Bilvo I suspect continuous practice of close in dog fighting is still a good thing as a last resort. I bet they still do it at Red Flag and Red Flag Alaska.? They certainly do. I watched a F-22 in a close in, low energy, turning fight with a F-35 over the Tikaboo Valley, Nevada, in July 2023. Red F...

Well I chose a great day for my first ever visit to Lossiemouth! The Frecce Tricolori landed in this order: 0 / MM54477 2 / MM54482 3 / MM54534 6 / MM54538 7 / MM54487 8 / MM55058 5 / MM54551 1 / MM55055 9 / MM55054 Number 10 and 4 arrived after I left to get a Chinese takeaway, but they were confir...

Cornish W & R requests

Hi, I'll be in Cornwall for the first time in years in April. I was hoping someone with local knowledge could answer these questions about some Cornish Wrecks and Relics. 1) Newquay / St.Mawgan: Are the Lynx XZ607 and Tornado ZH553 visible from outside? 2) Predannack: is Sea King XV657 still there? ...

Looks like a rather low downwind lefthand to runway 25 at Kayseri-Erkilet. Well done to the crew for making the field.

REQ: F-35 over Solent Monday 13th March 2023

My 79 year old Dad swears blind he saw a low level twin tail fighter heading north over Emsworth, Hampshire at 1335 on Mon 13th March.

Does anybody know if there was some sort of flypast over Portsmouth or the Queen Elizabeth carrier that day?

Thanks a lot,

Re: Why do US military (generally) avoid overflying Belgian airspace?

Well the story I was told is that the US Army forced the change from 7.62mm to 5.56mm NATO standard ammunition for assault rifles in 1981. Belgium previously supplied a lot of the widely used NATO standard 7.62 ammo, and was mighty peeved when this change occurred as it meant the US became the de fa...
