just for info, 4 Apaches airborne at the range just now. Paulo 1&2 and Bedlam 1&2. mainly at long range , but a few close passes.

Quick log for a half-decent day at the Spade Tuesday 15 Nov 2016. Arrived at 1040 with one GR4 already working the range at medium level, then dropped down for a couple of low level passes before RTB. A few minutes later , Ascot 114 (C-130) arrived and was on the range for over an hour at low-level....

I also remember tactical air meet 86,almost every NATO fast jet type in the space of an hour over the range! been up to spade on the last 3-4 Thursday's,still active,but a lot less low (250ft) fast jet act...

Was at Carlisle 1862 sqn from 83-88. Good times mainly, made some good friends there. Camps were :- Chivenor 84, Turnhouse 85 (Chipmunk flight everyday) and Watton 87 (got a go in what I believe was the ATC's only Beagle Husky) completed Basic Gliding certificate at Syerston in 87 (excellent week) :...
