Re: Least favourite aircraft?

Just reading through, its surprising how many people have voted for their ugliest aircraft in this "least favourite" poll. Personally I find that the uglier an aircraft has been designed, the more favourite they climb up my list! Anyway, personally I find the Voyager hideous. Lets face it. Its just ...

Northolt's amazing nightshootery

So much to shoot, and so little time to do it! Got to hand it to Phil, this was the king of nightshoots. I'll only add a few, as they start to get a bit similar, but you can always click on my flickr and see the rest. Thanks for looking. https://c5.staticflickr.com/6/5634/29538998524_2b272252fc_b.jp...

Re: Shackleton WR963 at Coventry, return to flight!!!

Most organisations have disputes as to the direction being taken, but there seems to be more to this story. To me it seems odd that private test runs were being done without knowledge of the owner. Unless the committee gets to vote for that to happen and the owner has only a single vote, then it wou...

Re: Solway Nightshoot. 15th of October

Sounds very good. Nice touch to give 12 months access away with a nightshoot. Selling it with the promise of the moon is probably a little hopeful in this country though!

Interesting to see Chalgrove go. I assume Martin Baker lease it from the MoD. Not sure how that will effect them from now on.

Hi Capercaillie I've just uploaded this phone pic to FlickR so you can see! https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7571/28592320345_401b9d68ca_b.jpg Special markings Chinooks at Odiham families day. by Paul Varcoe , on Flickr I'm keeping quiet about the strange goings on around the pricing of Chinook Display!

Odiham Families Day 16

Just thought I'd post a few from this event which included a Chinook Role Demo, but strangely no Chinook Display on home turf. As you would expect though of attendees, very helicopter focussed! https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7561/28436593306_72e41a92ea_b.jpg Chinook Role Demo by Paul Varcoe , on Flic...

Re: Ticket refund

It was an enjoyable airshow I thought. pretty good variety, and not as distant as originally thought. The problem really is the link to the Trade show, which makes people assume there will be a more cutting edge display, and the price! I have no idea why Farnborough felt that was a competitive price...

Farnborough Show road closures

Rushmoor council has issued a draft map. Its crap, but better than nothing. Some of the closures are denote by a tiny pink line across the closure point of a road, rather than the length of it. Thought I'd copy a link here for your info.

Re: New safety statement

There's been a lot of talk about Duxford and the impact the new rules will make, but surely Farnborough is the one that will be affected most, and has the biggest possibility of people encroaching into areas they shouldnt for a view? From all the closures I have seen, and the suggestion that the dis...

Re: Duxford's Naughty Field

One thing is for sure, this thread is going to be interesting reading after the weekend! I have a great deal of sympathy for those who wish to take photographs from a better vantage point. My sympathy ends for those who would wish to enter an area that is deemed unsafe and officially illegal for the...

Re: Spotting on a Saturday?

If its a nice day you will see Gliders towed up by a Chippy, and a few Vigilants. Occasionally a Chinook is active, returning or visiting an exercise somewhere, but its one, maybe 2 movements a day at the weekends, unless they have a specific reason for being up. Oh, you might get the Queens S76 pop...

Re: WANTED: Propeller!

I'm certain its a fantastic prop, and looks great - not quite got the sort of ornamental value I'm after! Thanks anyway!

(perhaps I should have mentioned, historical significance is a fairly important criteria)
