Some great shots there but the 4 x Luftwaffe Hooters will live long in my memory 👍

Re: Greenham Common IATS - '77-'83

Those Canberra shots are fantastic! First time I've seen colour shots I think. They're almost digital quality! Wasn't the aircraft on a pre delivery outing from EE/BAC (Salmesbury?) rather than flown all the way from South America?

Re: Greenham Common IATS - '77-'83

Fabulous! I just missed out on the Greenham tattoos... my first being 85...not realising it had then swapped to Fairford so was a little disappointed when I found out the venue had changed. Even though 85 was fabulous and the subsequent tattoos there have been generally brilliant, there is something...

Re: Yet more from the eighties...

I do miss those days! So much variety and the chance of the unexpected, and all that without any social media. You just turned up on the fence and hoped for the best. Most days would give you some variety. Thanks for sharing 👍 Were these all taken at Boscombe? Didn't the CC varks have a deployment t...

Aah cheers I did experience the same on my last visit so I'll probably give it a wide berth until the works are completed

Re: RAF Shawbury 28-29 May

Cheers for the log nice to know there's still some interest there. What's the current situation with the runway and apron works? Is the main runway still blocked with construction vehicles?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 General Discussion Thread

Lovely addition with the Greek Mirages, yes I think I saw one at Boscombe in 90 so it's been a long wait to see one again. Great work

Re: SUNNY BRIZE 27-02-2025

That's a great post of a much underreported base. I too enjoy a visit there from time to time as it's makes a nice change from the 'East'...and there's always a chance of something unusual passing through.

Re: Defence Spending

Some immigrants/ refugees are fleeing war zones but I'm sure quite a lot aren't. So why not dangle the carrot and see what happens? There's nothing to lose if we're short of manpower/womanpower. We're going to need to think outside the box to fill the gaps in soldiers, sailors and airmen/women. Also...

Re: trump

While I agree with some of the points above, despite all of Trumps mood swings and pure nonsensical rantings at least there's some movement towards some kind path to try and end the war (fingers crossed) and also a kick in the pants for Europe to increase defence spending. But what I don't agree wit...

Re: USA Week 2

Wow! Another superb jaw dropping post. So many hightlights... but the F-5's, F-35C's and Harriers are fabulous. Also nice to see that the Belgian F-35s haven't resorted to type and gone grey with their markings. Will make them easier to pick out on the fence line when they eventually make it to the ...

Re: Defence Spending

I'm not a fan of Trump at all but whatever his motives (if he actually knows himself) it's given Europe a well needed wake up call. All those years of defence cuts will take years to repair but at least it's a step in the right direction.....
