Re: Cosford Air Show 2024

Thanks for the advice - much appreciated. Is Cosford Club worth doing? Haven't been to Cosford Airshow before, so not sure what the flightline is like on a standard ticket. Photographing the flying display will be the most important part of the day for me. Been it it every year and really like it. I...

There is currently an unscheduled deployment of one, if you want to see a Ellsworth B-1 on the ground.

Re: Head Spinning - Newbie DSLR Purchase

Another vote for the Nikon 70-300 AF-P FX. Reviews suggest that the FX version is the one to get even if you have a DX body. As it's your first DSLR and within the budget, I'd suggest a used D500 or D7500. I would suggest holding off on a longer lens like the Nikon 200-500 for now. Knowing how your ...

Re: Lakenheath - nuclear store

🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦 According to Google when asked “do nuclear weapons give off radiation?” Moderately. They have an instrumentally detectable radiation because both weapon uranium and weapons-grade plutonium are radioactive. However they emit alpha particles which are relatively easy to stop. Electricity gene...

Re: B1 Deployment Patches (10/2023)

I wouldn't say often but it's not unheard of either.

Last year, one of the Lakenheath aircraft maintenance squadrons did a tribute patch to the spotters.

99ERS at Fairford had a Friday patch with the U-2 flying over the spotters.

For missions of this length, do they still debrief straight after? Or do they allow crew to eat and sleep first?
