Re: Spotting in Poland
Echo the sentiments above re Kraków’s museum - truly superb with some absolute gems on display (Goering’s WW1 collection and the P.11 particularly). Very easily accessed via the excellent Tram, and I believe it is free entry 1 day per week. Re spotting: a few years ago, I enquired with a local flyin...

Re: Question for the regulars re 493rd
How many F-15s are left on base following the latest deployments? Got a few days booked in Wales next week for my first trip to the Mach Loop. Considering postponing if there’s so few airframes left in the UK. Appreciate this is totally inconsequential in the grand scheme of things and I sincerely h...

Re: WC-135
I’m not overly familiar with Mildenhall, where do the RC-135s park? I take it they’re easily viewable from the road.
Heading for Lakenheath tomorrow so will try and get a look at this as well.
Many thanks again

WC-135
Evening chaps
Is the WC-135 still at Mildenhall? Last I heard it landed on the 30th Jan.
Just wondering as I’ve got a few days down there next week and would like to catch it if possible.
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.
Cheers

Re: F16 Buzzards at lakenheath
They were there in the afternoon when I saw them. Caps £25 , t shirts £25 and patches £10.00 each or three for £25. Small pencil patches were cheaper but I didn't see the prices. The patches were squadron and also deployment patches to Morocco, exercise African lion earlier this year. I always like...

Will be down for this next Wednesday and Thursday, hopefully they turn up and the weather plays ball!
Does much happen on a Friday or is flying usually finished by lunchtime?
Cheers

Re: Reds Practicing?
Hi JJC. Recently, should the weather be suitable, the Reds have been up twice a day. The first slot is normally between 9-9.30 start time. They tend to go up for the 2nd sortie around 2-2.5hrs after landing from the first one. Today I'm pretty sure they only went up once between 10 and 11. Tomorrow...

Reds Practicing?
Good afternoon, long time lurker but not much of a poster previously. Are the Reds currently practicing at Scampton? Thinking about having a run up tomorrow and just wondered if it was worth the trip or not. Is there any sort of time or schedule they run to or is it just as and when? Thanks in advan...

Great collection!
How did you get hold of the Tucano 2019 patch? I was told they weren’t available to anyone but the crew at RIAT.

Re: Gnat crash at oulton park
To try and answer your question. Obviously, distance is time, and is therefore safer for pilots and spectators. Altitude combined with speed is also safety. Aircraft displaying will frequently fly beyond the field, of course. To minimise risk to people outside, there must [in the CAA's view, I gues...

Re: Gnat crash at oulton park
Evidently some involved in the CAA do have relevant expertise. But I don't think you can refer to all involved as 'experts' in the field of aviation. To hell with safety? No, not at all. To hell with proportionality? In some respects it seems like it. Shows held in the UK have been safe for the gene...
