Re: BAe Hawk 50!
Me too! I had no idea in those days that I would work on that very airframe at the twilight of her operational life. Neither did I know that several other types at that show would also feature in my career, namely Tristar, Alpha Jet and Tornado.

Ah, the VAAC Harrier! I remember seeing her at Cranfield on her conversion, little did I know I'd be working on her later in life...

Re: Question regarding pilots oxygen masks?
As I understand it, when the kit is checked post flight by the Safety Equip. staff, they are cleaned with an antiseptic wipe.

Re: Smart phone mounting?
I use a phone holder from Mefoto ( https://www.mefoto.com/de/products/sidekick-360-smartphone-holder ) with a hot shoe to tripod thread adaptor. The mefoto bracket base is threaded to accept either a 1/4" tripod thread or a 3/8" one and its edges are shaped so it can fit into an Arca Swiss mount als...

The tape around the canopy is just an extra layer of weather protection.

Re: Compact Flash - SD / SDXC adapters
I have two of these, one each for my 7d & 5dii. I bought the first one just as trial to see how/if it works. As far as I can tell, whilst it does introduce another possibility for failure, it works fine and I personally have not noticed any performance issues even on the 7d burst mode. For info, I g...

No 5 does it for me! Wish I'd gone to Brean Down now.
Ah well maybe next year, but no Vulcan of course.

Hi,
Thanks for the info, I'll put it into my radio for tomorrow. I doubt they'd change it overnight, but you never know.

Re: Weston Air Festival 2014
Thanks for the location info. Another quick question, is there a dedicated frequency for the airshow and if so, what is it?

Hi,
I've never been to this show before and I am available on Sunday. Can anyone recommend a good watching/photo spot?
Regards,
Nige

Re: RAF Marham Family Day 2011 (inside - image heavy)
Saw the show from inside the wire as well, was a good show, better than I thought it was going to be.
Viper28, the show info was wrong, they were most definately Yak-50s not 52s. Yak-52s are two-seaters with tri-cycle u/c not tailwheel.

Nige
