made a emergency landing near Sleaford
Does anyone know exactly where and what was the Serial No.

Thanks in Advance
Pete
It was ZJ230, just south of Heckington, a field near Helpringham.

It was way back it was part of a four ship flight skua flight the three other lynx were ZD266-302 XZ729-350 XZ721-309 obviously the forth one I only got as 308
On 28/08/2010, Skua flight was actually comprised of ZD266/302, XZ233/306, XZ721/309 and ZD259/350.

Re: New MIG 21 for the UK

On Sunday 26th January I popped into Cobham services on the M25 and I could not help but see a MIG 21 on a low loader parked in the HGV area . Closer inspection revealed the serial 1811 so I am presuming it is the MIG21M formally at Dabrowa Gornicza . The lorry had polish plates so the question is ...

Reports from else where saying that they are all now unwrapped.
This is not correct.

The one in the SW corner was still totally wrapped this morning. This is the ex RN spares HAS6 frame. So, just the 5 ex-RAN flyers are now unwrapped.

So, it should just be (and in fact actually officially is) T1, FGR4, AEW1, MRA1 etc
Thanks for the explanation.
PS: There should be a full point after 'etc.'.:D
:D duly noted, thanks.

Re: 2020 Squadron & Unit Review

Thanks for the input, Bluetail and tommc. At the risk of sounding like an editor (well, actually, I am!), I was making a general reference to Habu Hunter's list, in which none of the alphanumeric entries feature a full point, and just used 'MRA.1' as an example. The issue of 'Mk.' or 'Mk' is an int...

Red Flag 20/1, 27 Jan - 14 Feb, MAM Notam severely restricted activity in January anticipating your assumption.
Also, with 207 Sqn doing some carrier training early in the new year, it does look like Marham may be quieter (if that is possible!)

Re: 2020 Squadron & Unit Review

Poseidon MRA.1 according to the 'P-8 Delivery Schedule' thread in Fighter Mess. Shouldn't the alphanumeric designation all have a full point, e.g. 'MRA.1', or is that just a matter of style of presentation? MRA.1 is the correct designation Full Designation would be Poseidon Maritime Reconnaissance ...

Looks like there is at least one or two too many Apache squadrons, I was sure they were down to 3/4 front line units.
653 Sqn are still an active Apache unit at Wattisham, but no longer part of the front-line 3 Rgt

Re: ZZ507 Executive Shadow

This remark might interest the following - tommc, bizfreeq & TonyO In the latest publication of AFM #381 December 2019 there is a small report on ZZ507 by Martin Fox which states that 507 is an R2 Whilst the earlier R1s are being reworked to R1A as interim, and then will be reworked to R2s I must a...

Re: ZZ507 Executive Shadow

There is no such mark as an R1A.

There are the original unmodified R1 marks (ZZ416/418/504)
There are the modified R1+ marks (ZZ417/419/507)
There are the currently being upgraded R2ICM marks (ZZ505/506)

Re: Westlant 19 Aircraft Participation

In your squadron numbers, the "R" (for "Reserve") was dropped ages ago as far as I know. Also, the dot between Role Designation and Mark number is also superfluous, unless you include the abbreviated word Mark (Mk.), as that is what the dot would be referring to. So, HC Mark 4 is the longhand versio...

Sorry for all the questions but just quickly A) do they arrive over the approach end of the runway? B) can you see the military ramp from outside? Thanks Mike, this was taken from the public multi-storey car park just down from the terminal building. http://www.wattisham.org.uk/images/einapache.jpg
