Re: AVIATION NATION
Lovely pictures James!!!!!. Nostalgia for me too!!!. Wife and I flew to the Monaco Grand Prix on that yellow and white Monarch Britannia in the background of a Duxford shot, and I also 'flight-decked' the Concorde in the very next shot on a quick Sunday jolly years ago. I think it is G-BOAB leaving ...

Hi, F.3. Yes, a C119 Packet. I have no idea why it is wearing a British reg. Used to watch them in and out of Bovingdon when I was a lad.

Re: A Shower of Meteors
A ban on aircraft sales?. Hmmm. These aircraft are owned by private companies, or private individuals who are surely entitled to make a return on the sale of the aircraft if nobody else comes up with the wherewithal. Difficult enough to part with a Hunter for a private individual, who has thousands ...

Hi, Gary. There were experiments in the U.S. with this rocket pack, launching from an inclined platform like a zero length runway., so a virtually 45degree instant take-off. I have seen pictures taken during a launch, but I have no information on how long these experiments went on for. Regards, John.

A shame. I went on the first George Pick trip to the Soviet Union many years ago which included this superb museum. All these aircraft we had read about, but not seen..... Wonderful!.

Thunder is right. Play silly bu..ers in your private aircraft if you like when you are on your own. Lots of 'limit pushers' pushing up daisies, and have taken others with them.

Re: What made you laugh today?
I do very little alcohol these days, and I put up with the ribbing I get from my neighbours and friends. I believe I am having the last laugh tho'. Don't need artificial stimulants to enjoy myself. For those that are going to call me a boring old f.rt. Old f.rt yes, boring? er no......

Re: Machloop ban
ChrisCwmbran. It sounds on one of your previous posts re this, that you are encouraging pilots to fly even lower!. So, no offence, are you suggesting that low-flying takes place at even lower altitudes, presumably, taking it to the stage where perhaps we lose 1 or 2 or 3 pilots and aircraft a year, ...

Agree with Colin. Flying has to be very disciplined, and there is no room for a cavalier attitude to safety these days.

Very sad. For years I had a picture in my hall of his Dad shooting down a Mirage in 1982. Too young to depart.

Knowing just a teeny bit about aeroplane driving, like some others on this forum, I find it amazing that he got as far as he did!!. Difficult enough in a light spamcan, let alone a four-engined lumbering beastie in the dark. Flying it straight and level, yes, possibly, but I suspect that he 'lost' t...

Re: 1969 USAF C130 Wreckage Found in Channel
Perhaps he might find Glenn Miller at the same time. I have no doubt that conspiracy theories will abound again. It crashed, he died, it may have been shot down?,. If so it could be justified. Does this really matter anymore?. If his relatives discover 'the truth' I am sure that they would understan...
