Re: Shackleton XF708 @ Duxford - 23Mar24

I remember back in 2014 when I did work experience with the American Air Museum and happened to be working in the same hut as Duxford's aircraft curator at the time. The big discussion at the time was whether to use their new lump of lottery money for the Victor or the Shackleton, obviously, the Vic...

Lakenheath F-35s 28/03/2024

Hullo again. I visited The Mound at Mildenhall on Thursday and in the absence of much movement at Mildenhall, I spent much of the time staring over at Lakenheath, which seemed a lot more exciting that day. Anyway, I was hoping someone might be able to help out identifying the F-35s that I saw, I'm p...

Trooping the Colour Flypast 2009 (13/06/2009)

Hello everyone, I was hoping someone might be able to help me with the IDs of the aircraft flying in the 2009 Trooping the Colour flypast, bit of a blind spot in my research. As usual any assistance will be appreciated, I might be asking about some more in the 2010s, but I'll make sure to have a sea...

Re: USAF Over Ely - 20/12/2023

Sounds like it was a very busy day at Lakenheath (it certainly did from where I was standing) so I'm not surprised about not getting the F-35s, thank you nonetheless! Looks pretty solid on the C-130 though which is nice

USAF Over Ely - 20/12/2023

[Apologies for duplication, moved into appropriate sub-forum, have deleted the original] Morning folks. I had a day out in Ely yesterday and caught sight of a few USAF aircraft. MC-130J(s) (presumably, considering the proximity to Mildenhall) were seen at the following times 12:06 circled over Ely 1...

Re: Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre closure

It feels completely deliberate they've chosen the Easter weekend for this, to destroy any chance of the CAHC retaining its exhibits in any capacity and establishing the museum at a new site. Just how many of these aircraft are going to get the chop then to satisfy some hidden council agenda?

Just having another look through Flickr, I don't have any of the other helicopters I do have another Chipmunk though, WK514 / G-BBMO which I noticed flying after the show. No luck on t...

I'm lucky to live on the path in Essex, so I'll just stand on the roof to see it, we don't get the helicopters though sadly.

Re: Queens birthday Flypast

Well, if what I could see on ADSB is anything to go by should be a good flypast, my friend in Lincoln managed to catch the Phenom + Texans and Typhoons from home, I feel like I'll one-up her for the actual flypast down here in Chelmsford though. I'm looking forward to seeing the Poseidons for the fi...
