Re: Folly rd closed off tonight 23/8
I was down Folly Rd. Wednesday PM & there were guys felling trees in the wooded area to the left of the road as you go up towards the crash gate.

Re: Kings birthday flypast practice
I'm considering a trip to London to see this with my sprog, as it's a pretty unique opportunity. Does anyone have any concrete info that it will be on the scale of the Coronation Flypast? British Gliding Association is currently my primary source. Also any recommendations for spots to get a good vi...

Re: Lakenheath surge sectors question
That’s interesting - thanks Vulture. It explains why it is not a daily occurrence & some weeks I see a lot of F-15/F-35 & some weeks not so many.

Lakenheath surge sectors question
Hello, I’ve put this question in the mess but if mods feel it’s more appropriate in the Lakenheath sub forum please move. I was wondering if anyone could help w/ the rough geographic locations of the East Anglian ‘Surge Sectors’ that the jets are often operating in? These are called on the radio & o...

Re: How Long are the B52's at Fairford For
:halo: Does anyone know how long the B52's will be staying at Fairford for? TIA Bob  At a guess I’d say the ones in the know are USAFE & AF Global Strike Command…However for speculation & info (sometimes more of the former!) I’d suggest you keep an eye on the dedicated Fairford Bomber Deploym...

Re: Muckleburgh
F-15’s & Typhoon are fairly regular visitors for the FAC (Forward Air Control) exercises at Mucklebrough - generally speaking they operate in the sort of 10k-2.5K bracket so not majorly low. As the other poster said keep an eye on the Notams will be specific as to whether it’s rotary or fast jet act...

Re: USAFE Won’t Add Extra F-35 Sq But Will Get Rotation of F-22s
There was talk some years ago about upgrading some of the facilities/HAS etc. at Spang to accommodate F-22 ops. I don’t think this happened unless anyone knows otherwise but I guess some infrastructure work may be carried out in the future if Spang becomes preferred location for surge operations fo...

Re: Two more US F-35 Sqns to the UK
I’ve an even more sensible reply the ONLY base these F-35s will go (if they indeed appear!) is LN. End of. LN is the only base capable of supporting these jets in the UK for a deployment of any length of time.

Re: Two more US F-35 Sqns to the UK
This is the key paragraph from The Drive article: ‘Meanwhile, while Lakenheath officials confirm to The War Zone that Biden is calling for two new F-35A squadrons there, it is unclear how the base will handle the additional aircraft. There are already two F-35A squadrons at RAF Lakenheath, the 495th...

Re: Queens birthday Flypast
Hello all, I am hoping to head to Southwold to the see the start of the Flypast. Going on previous flypasts which elements will be visible? I’m guessing everything minus the helicopter/BBMF parts? Thanks in advance.

Re: The daily mail try to improve their reputation
It’s a shame that they hadn’t agreed a defence deal 10 years ago with the proviso that they sent some of their phantastic phantoms over here on excercise for a while!

Re: 29-04-2022
Does anyone know where the U-2 departed to at 09.40? Back to the states? If so does that just leave the 1 U-2 here now (currently out as Black 01)?
