Re: North Sea Shipping Incident

When you see the path of the other ship in the collision, has an act of terrorism been ruled out? A large ship at anchor full of jet fuel,a smaller ship full of chemicals on a direct path to the tanker? Of course in the real world it was probably just a case of the watchkeeper on the smaller vessel...

Re: NATO Future

Congres has to approve..the president is not allowed to do this own hand. ....Trump will pass NATO stays. Don't bet on it, he is walking all over Congress right now with multiple EOs that they don't seem to be able to stop. He's becoming unstoppable and his views on NATO are well known. We can't tr...

Re: US pausing Military aid to Ukraine

There is nothing for Ukraine to gain by signing away their mineral rights to the US. What’s stopping Trump and Putin to agree on a deal for Russia to take them? And as for security guarantees, isn’t that what the 1994 nuclear disarmament agreement was for? That is worthless. I wouldn’t trust this US...

Re: Defence Spending

One thing that hasn't been very well planned for by the MoD - after opting for 2 QE-class carriers, they needed to provide sufficient finance to be able to operate them adequately. By that I mean provide sufficient aircraft to be able to operate at least one of the carriers at any one time to maximu...

Re: trump

Unfortunately, Vance's speech at the Munich Security Conference, coupled with Trump's comments and also Hesgeth's over the last week has severely distanced the current US administration to their European partners. Will European and NATO partners want to share all INTEL with the current US administra...

Re: Top Gun inside the RAF C4

While it was great to see the effort put in by those from Akrotiri in defending Israel from Iran, I do think the RAF fielding 2 aircraft against the USAF's 60 is another wake-up call to all of us. Was there REALLY any point in a token gesture of 2 aircraft? Did it really make a difference? If we we...

Re: RAF to get F35A ?

Going off on a slight tangent here, but are there any current or former RAF bases that use mountains as a natural shelter for aircraft, like tunnelling into the rock and creating a hardened bunker where aircraft would be stored out of sight and in relative safety.

Kalitta Air flight CKS9741 currently en route to Minot AB.
It'll be interesting to see where she goes from there.

Re: Possible Deployment

A couple of heavy lifters have been in and out of Minot AB over the last 24hrs. One C-5 heading to Ramstein.

Does this add more credibility to the rumours?

Possibly not relevant, but this NOTAM is up for Mildenhall. I'm wondering if equipment is being moved from Mildenhall to Fairford? Thought this post would be more suitable for this topic.
After today’s arrival we now have 3x BUFFS for the BTF deployment. Do we think more will come? Anyone have numbers of airframes for previous deployments? TIA

Any news on when the buffs will arrive or no clue as yet?
Keep an eye on USAF tanker movements across NE CONUS and AirRes over NE CONUS. That will give you a massive clue.

Re: Deployment

If there is any truth in these rumours, could very well tie in with major MoD exercises off the NW coast of Scotland, due to take place between 10th and 24th of June.

Sixteen active E-3s to be replaced by just six E-7s. Is this a sign that the E-7 is significantly more capable (or reliable) than the E-3?
Or could NATO be waiting for an upgraded (Mk2) version before committing to further purchases other than the initial 6?

Re: Potential Movements 11/10/23

I’d have thought we’d see movement of support aircraft prior to any movement from Dyess. Until we see tankers moving over CONUS with the appropriate mission codes, I’d take the FOD walk as something else, personally. It that just a case of looking at something like ADS-B? Would the mission codes be...
