Re: Daily movements 11/10/21
Does anyone know what a typical flight plan to UK would be from Spang? Though not direct I’m wondering if they’ll go via NAVPI-MAM and then down Dav corridor? If so I will have my eyes peeled in Norfolk. I would imagine they will use the Dav corridor. Pretty much the standard way back to FFD from t...

Re: The Tornado GR1 (Stealth) Variant
Interesting! I have almost exactly the same shot of the Stealth GR.1. But it looks from mine that the expose isn't there on the nose - did the men in blacked out Range Rover get to it? :-)

NAS Point Mugu show, April 1999
Just finished scanning a bunch of slides from my 2nd (and last :( ) spotting trip to the SW USA. We covered all the usual places and ended up at NAS Point Mugu for their airshow on April 24th 1999. Back in those days I was more of a spotter than a photographer, which possibly explains why I don't ha...

National Training Center Aviation Company, April 1999
Fort Irwin, in California's Mojave desert is home to the US Army's National Training Center. Aviation support for the training activities that go on there was (and still is?) provided by the NTC Aviation Company based at Barstow-Daggett airfield. On our SW USA tour in April 1999 we had a base visit ...

More B-1s..
Having read someone else's post a few threads down, thought I'd share some B-1 photos as well. Have always loved these, they just look right. Weird to think that they are going to be outlived by the B-52s - these seemed like the future when they first entered service. Earliest picture I have of a Bo...

Re: NAS North Island, April 1999
Plus, back in those days I was more of a number cruncher than a photographer. You can have no idea how just much I regret having that attitude back then! Yep. I've got pages and pages of logbook scribblings with thousands of serials. Somehow scanning and sharing those doesn't have quite the same ap...

NAS North Island, April 1999
Having spent some time scanning slides from a 1999 trip to the SW US, thought I'd share some. My scanning and processing of slides is not great - I didn't really use slides much, and when I did it was cheapo Jessops film. Plus, back in those days I was more of a number cruncher than a photographer. ...
