Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

You've just got to put in the effort and the time to get the reward - thats what being a spotter/enthusiast is all about . Again, if you read the post again I’ve said I understand it’s a bomber deployment, I understand they fly when they have to and not to entertain us (should be obvious really), a...

Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

You do realise a day at the fence of an operational air base isn’t like an airshow, right? The pandemic has had an effect on this deployment, bringing up challenges never faced before by the crews. Given the current world situation it was never going to run as smoothly as previous deployments, I’m ...

Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

I only know basics about mission planning, aircraft maintenance and turn around (and little about the effect Covid is having on this deployment) but with 6 airframes here I imagined there would be more flying with more aircraft. I believe it was stated this would be a very active deployment compare...

Possibly related to the sick crew member yesterday?
To be honest that was myself and Jack’s thought, but nothing to be concrete about. Who knows.

Re: NOTAM 9-9-2020

NOTAM says open until 8 Open Notam was removed some time ago. U2 is up so another NOTAM should be posted later for it's return. whether that same NOTAM will allow a B52 flight is yet to be seen. Hoping for some activity from the B-52, couple of vehicles out so hopefully soon it will get busy.

61-0034 is here.
60-0034 is Wise Guy and isn't here
I’ll have to disappoint a local then who said he was sure “Wise Guy” was here.

When 61-0034 turned up I thought that was the one he mistook for it. Thanks for confirming.

All quiet on the ground, maintenance crews are looking around 056 which is still in bits.
Is aircraft 60-0034 still here? I know 61-0034 is but I saw that one of the aircraft is “Wise Guy”.

Hi, thanks for reply. Will they be here all week w/c 7th ? Or when does the exercise finish ? Thanks Neal It's a subtle change but this is a BTF/bomber task force/deployment rather than an exercise. They come and they go for calendar periods and fly regional stability missions rather than exercise ...
