Re: B2's Next week

Global Strike Command covers a lot more than just the bomber fleet. They still have a mission to do and maintain readiness which will be a lot easier to do if they can control and lockdown the bases, which they can. These squadrons are pretty tight knit and the risk is if any personal or member of ...

Re: Over flying France

The aircraft involved in Op. Eldorado Canyon also had to route around Spanish Airspace also, as neither country gave diplomatic permission for armed over flights. Although the tankers took the same route also IIRC.

When you can see the ground from your high horse, I'm sure Andrew was only sharing some light hearted humour. Not really any need to sink to that level is there!?

Re: F16 Demo Team breaks another jet!

That panel coming off could of been as simple as the latches on it not being put down correctly. If thats the case then no matter the flight the panel could of come off, i use to work on Tornados and ive heard loads of stories of panels coming off due to them not being fitted or secured correctly, ...

Re: PAX flt from Whiteman 21st Aug ??

Rumour is 2 PAX flights from Whiteman, not a B-2 deployment. IIRC at least one of the support flights from a previous bomber deployment routed via one of the other types (B-52/B-1) bases, thus starting the whole 'it'll be a x-x deployment then'.

As MRTT quite rightly stated, we will see.

Which would be easily covered by 'they don't need to' ;)

And no worries Ollie.

Edit, can't remember if the did validate at VL or not, but if they did it would indeed cover both. Pretty sure they had already been validated for RIAT anyway.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

It's just a rumour, and until confirmed by DBH or the USAF thats all it will be.

If by any chance one does turn up, it'll most likely be late afternoon, as has every other global power flypast. And they usually do not land in the UK afterwards.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

Just do away with Friday and just stick to arrivals and PDA (if necessary). Show days sat/sun only. It always worked that way. I think thats a very sensible suggestion Pete. Cheers John 'flightpath'. I'm sure there was a reason they had to make friday a public day, something to do with insurance an...

Rain and thunderstorms predicted for Fri and Sat. Wonder if that will affect the flying displays or lead to any cancellations? Or if they'll say postpone the flying to a later time so start at 12 rather than 10
Fingers crossed, then the sunday goers can be really happy
