Not a spotters zone as such at tain but you can park on various different spots on the old airfield that give good views onto the range

Howlers are currently in 613 complex with lossie jets Jedi and fang working blue primary 355.5 blue secondary 357.625 and shot saftey 142.65 aswell as 242.25

The range is used but not too the extent it was in the eighties I’m only a couple of mile from it in tain itself so catch most stuff on there lossie jets use it regularly normally at medium altitude but sometimes they do carry out gun attacks we regularly get helos from all branches up carrying out ...

passed west of me in tain cleared south of inverness bye inverness radar and popped up near Nairn called lossie approach as they swung round south of inverness

39 and 46 showed on 360radar till they went low level s/west of wick and came back on screen as theuy pulled out south of inverness

Hi Gareth tain is used regularly bye lossie based aircraft usually at medium to high altitude I’m about a 2 mile away from the range twr and don’t see them often we hear them and occasionally see them low level recently we had wildcats live firing from door guns that was good too watch and listen to...
