Wow, only just seen these images. Great to see images of it’s operational life, as I was only a kid when it operated from the Hall. Only got to see the SR71 at Mildenhall Air Fete’s.
Probably my only other sighting of a flying SR71 was performing a missed approach at RAF Manston of all places!

Re: RIAT 2024 - Departures Discussion and Q+A's
The Saudi herc was a late straggler. Flight plan issues resulted in a delayed departure at 1815. Airfield was meant to strictly close at 1800 according to ATC, but they kept open to accommodate the Saudi departure. 2 Danish F16's towed into hangar, believe there was still a red arrow in the same han...

127.65 Did you happen to be driving the tatty old Merc which hurtled past me this morning on a very recently resurfaced road with a 20mph limit resulting in my cracked windscreen? ‘Twas not I driving the tatty old Merc. Sorry to hear of the cracked windscreen, very frustrating 😡 A very recently res...

Re: Deployment General Information
B52 movements today? Gander ATC have filed an airborne flight plan for GROAT12, B52 Minot to Fairford with an afternoon arrival. For Gander to file, would suggest the flight might actually be airborne and working Gander. Filed route covers oceanic portion only, exiting oceanic at 55N015W. Haven’t se...

Ozzie 21 - 10/11 departures
Spoiler alert, the callsign might dispel several assumptions, lol
Ozzie 21.
2 aircraft. Late morning departure, direct home. No BTF mission enroute.
Tanker support from LAGR91.
Nothing for the other 2 aircraft…yet.

Re: Howler 61 & Howler 62 Saturday 4th November
Fairly certain that was HOWLR61 transferring from 129.430 to Brest 129.005.
Checked in at FL230, asked the controller to spell the cleared waypoint then I lost comms.
Maybe they have split? Or I misheard.

Re: KC-46A
Just as likely that one of them was away somewhere doing tankering, but IIRC yes, they have 4 large hangars and at least 2 of them I think would be large enough to get all of a KC-46 in. But - why couldn't you read them off? They're all usually parked side on and easily visible from McIntyre Road he...

B1 Arrivals Sat 14th
Likely a pair of B1 arrivals early afternoon Saturday as JUICE 41
Should be departing Dyess shortly.
If skies are clear, a route south from Scotland looks most likely.
More will become clear as the night progresses, no doubt.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2023 General Discussion Thread
Anyone have any experience of turning up at park and view east/west for Monday departures without a pre-booked ticket?
How many tickets do they keep back for ‘on the day’?
If arriving 0730 what are the chances of getting in?

Given where they’re going tomorrow, a very good chance you’ll be in luck.
It will be an arrival from the east, and most likely somewhere over/near your gaff

A well kept machine. UK aviation has become duller since retirement of the B744 from our skies.
1 & 2 for me, but all are great photo’s. Right place, right time.

Re: Lydd 16th December 2022
Stunning shots Woody as always, the last two in particular. A bit of low winter sun makes such a difference, making even a grey colour scheme stand out. As always work gets in the way of this hobby so I couldn’t get down there, but glad the heads up helped. Looks like it was delayed circa 90 minutes...
