Re: What counts as "Spotting" an aircraft?

Long wondered this, but what counts as spotting an aircraft? For me, it's: You can see this full aircraft Can easily see the serial It's under 2-3K ft high. I really don't understand how people claim frames when they are Fl350 going OTT between clouds. Opinions? Surely its what ever you want it to ...

Re: Mach Loop possible?

Going back to this thread, the week just gone was pretty bad despite the reasonable weather. It was only redeemed by the single pass of CONAN, fourship of F15Cs on Friday.

Re: Mach Loop possible?

A400 did Bwlch the other day but as has been said, they’re quite rare in the loop. Last time I was on holiday in the loop (around 14th April) I managed to see 8 eagles in a week including a 4-ship which was nice.

Re: F-35B jets to join the fight against Daesh from the Carrier Strike Group

Will there be anything to attack, strikes are few and far between at the moment. Usually caves whenever there are strikes. That was the first British strike in a while, and that used Storm Shadow which isn't available to F-35. Was reminded of this when I saw the news today. Not F35Bs I know but it'...

I'm now off into the garden to dig a bomb shelter to avoid incoming from the rest of you......
Not much good against a Paveway IV but if you live more than five miles from Marham then you'll be alright, they'll need to refuel by then!

Re: F-35B jets to join the fight against Daesh from the Carrier Strike Group

Depends on how far off the coast they go, and how far inland for targets or ops, with the short range loaded with weapons can the F35B be effective. Or even fly deep into daesh areas and back too the carrier 100miles or more off the coast. Well, the RAF has tankers on Cyprus and regularly refuels T...

Re: LAGR and QID callsigns

I noticed this callsign recently too and wondered why it has suddenly appeared. There must be a reason and I was not brave enoguh to ask as someone was bound to take a 'pop', as has now been done. Surely its OK to ask basic questions on here without fear of derision? Don't ask questions or else you...

Just seems to be lots of people needing to know why, but aren't asking the same questions about the new Marham callsigns, for example.
