Re: Cambridge Airports future ?
I believe dirt has been cut to start building new apron and hangarage. It's going to be a sad day when it comes. I have lived by it all my life.

Re: Lakenheath 28/8 in the grey
I'm pretty sure that in a video i watched on YouTube that one of the F-16s had the 'Dark Falcon' or Have Glass scheme. was I seeing things? Pretty sure I read an article a few months ago that the most of the fleet will be transitioning over to 'Dark Falcon' at some stage.
Happy to be corrected.

Re: U2 deployment news
Yes, Senior Span/Ruby U-2R 68-10338 crashed on the 29th Aug'95. Wreckage was guarded until it was removed from the field by the Dunfield crash gate so that's probably why you're cousin was moved there to help out with the extra policing required. Wow you are a fountain of knowledge! It's good to kn...

Re: U2 deployment news
Might resurrect the title `Operating Location - United Kingdom` last used when U-2's were based at Fairford Mar'95 -Jan'96. Although they had 3 (differently configured) U-2R's based, a total of 10 U-2's used Fairford during that period with the maximum present at one time being 5 a/c. This was a co...

Re: USMC FA-18 Rumour
Just had a guy come up to us regarding arrivals and he said that they may possibly fly to Lajes and not into Lakenheath. Hoping this is wrong.

Re: BDRF LAKENHEATH AUG92
Wow I knew there were some machines on the far side of the base but didn't realise what I was looking at! An F-105, shame my cousin couldn't take me out on the active to take a look at these a bit closer! I was just a kid at the time and always got exited when I see them from the car park on base. T...
