And now a F/A 18 joins the party; An F/A-18 fighter jet slipped off the hangar deck of an aircraft carrier deployed to the Middle East, as sailors were towing the aircraft into place in the hangar bay of the USS Harry S. Truman on Monday, the Navy said. The crew members who were in the pilot seat of...

I asked a former USN officer if we'd ever see a USS Richard M Nixon and he replied "In time".
Then I asked about a USS Trump; "Hopefully on a submarine, so we hopefully never see it"

Colombian Gripens on hold

Colombia intended buying Gripens, but these have General Electric engines, so America has blocked the sale.
The Swedes will have to develop a new Volvo power plant or else use Rolls Royce etc.

Didn't she have a half-wing though? I think there was an abbreviation in the centre.
Correct, I played the programme back. No aircrew eagle above her stripes, but definitely a half wing brevit with an abbreviation on her overalls.

Re: Top Gun inside the RAF C4

Inside the Reaper control cabin we were introduced to "Melissa, an Imagery Analysist". Is that the modern terminology for a Photo Interpreter?
Looking at the patches on her overalls, it appears she is now classified as aircrew. Is that correct?

As an aside, do drone operators receive Flying Pay?

If true, that means the land can't be sold off by the MoD for housing raising £Millions, and worse, it'll cost £Millions to de-contaminate the land to restore it to the original condition. Correct and if originally it was an orchard or plain woodland, that means replanting mature trees. The Honoura...

Or,heaven forbid, could the Argies be contemplating offensive action in the South Atlantic?

1980 there was a large NATO exercise named Crusader. The Turks complained, so four years later in 84, we had Lionheart. The penny never dropped concerning where & how King Richard gained that title.

The Royal Air Force is sending aircraft and personnel to join two major exercises in the Indo-Pacific Region this summer. One exercise will be based in Australia and the other Hawaii. Netflix is now offering us the Indian film "Fighter". It lasts nearly three hours leans heavily on the two Top Gun films for plot, but here the Sukhois & Kamov helicopters are flown by the "good guys" whilst the baddies, Pakistan, are operating F16s.
