That is one ugly-looking fire truck - front end anyway!
Has a Mad Max look about it.

Global Express

Maltese registered (9H-OPE) Global Express out of Biggin(?) currently doing circuits at lowish level.

Obvs didn't read the noise abatement memo - pretty much the same track for the past three circuits (not that I'm complaining :D).

No strictly Fairford related, but apparently there's a load of tanker metal up from Mildenhall ATM. Something brewing??

IMG 8687 particularly interesting. The "boss" is a "full bird colonel".... Apt nose art! Great CV shows B1 and B2. I'll bet he has a soft spot for the Buffs. Check out on Google Col Michael O Walters. Mods can remove if this is inappropriate, but all is available online. Interesting. Thanks exatco....

Re: BTF/ B52H 2020 General Information

I much prefer it when they are their usual gungho, go-getting selves, like when they came back from their first Ukrainian sortie. The comms then was epic. I assume one of their senior crew led this flight.

Re: BTF/ B52H 2020 General Information

Intriguing that they had their chat over an open channel and not via secure comms. I'd be a tad concerned at the look this portrays if I were their CO. What would your concern as their CO be? I'm intrigued. Moved from yesterday's tracking thread Firstly, OPSEC, secondly, morale. Also, it could pote...

Do USAF post these videos somewhere on an open source licence? Its just I've seen several YouTubers posting this exact video.

Re: B-52 General chat!

I know some have been frustrated at the lack of activity but for me it has been a fascinating deployment. They arrive pretty much un-announced, and have done some interesting - and historic - sorties (e.g. Ukraine, Morocco), and the Minot crews do love their 'fighting wing' and singleton run + break...

Re: Fairford B52 Request

On the plus side, the USAF press release did mention something about training sorties to Africa which they haven't done yet. Also I did read somewhere that the deployment was going to run to mid-Sept (to tie in with some exercise or other?). On the negative side, they did turn up earlier than expect...

Re: NOTAM 27-8-20

But people have been parking there (Sensibly) with no issue for decades... It was so bad the other day when we were there. Had to park down wash pool lane and even then couldn’t get any spaces. It’s been carnage As I suspected - hence my post earlier this week about viewing arrangements. Part of th...

Current deployment viewing

Just wondering how the current viewing arrangements at Fairford are working out. Was anyone up today and, if so, were there any issues with parking? Its just I've noticed a definite uptick in the numbers of people viewing on the Brize approach, presumably due to the absence of much else to do at pre...
