Re: Hawker Hunter crashed at Shoreham

Hi Gibson617, I'm not sure what to say exactly but i wanted to reply, just to share things in case it helps. Apart from friends I have lost in life, I have lost a few friends in aviation and have seen a fatal aircrash. On one occasion, nearly myself as i was part of the support team for Don Bullock'...

Fabulous shot, well recovered. My wife and I were there and will never forget it, we still yarn away to people about it to this day. Fantastic air shows, fantastic planes.

Re: ok,so who is going to admit to owning one of these....!!

Oh what happy memories. Sadly you will be spared pics of my box as someone stole it from the car in 1984 along with the contents, a Chinon CS and various Sunagor & Vivitar glass, a 300mm, 500mm and some things wider but not much better. I remember so many of those stickers, what a fantastic thread t...

Re: Yet more from Fairford

It's lovely to think of children growing up like that, it's sort of refreshing and hopeful just when you thought technology had taken over everything. Two mates after school wheeling their bikes across the field where the crew probably waved to them. They'll remember that.

Re: Yet more from Fairford

Thanks folks, I haven't taken any aircraft stuff (except for museums) since a Fairford departure day in 2006 (was it really that long ago?) Anyway, it was nice to go back to doing it, thanks again to your forum for the daily info that got me there.

Yet more from Fairford

I put these on your Facebook page but I've had a look at the instructions and so I'll have a go at putting them on here. Must agree with all that I have just read. I did post a thanks on your Facebook page but should have here as well. Were it not for your site (and FB page) I would not have gone to Fairford twice last week, met loads of new people and got some nice shots. A massive thanks to everyone who posts stuff,...

Lovely pics, lovely colour scheme and THAT custom exhaust - just needs a few blue LEDs around the bottom and good sound system.

Well I never knew that, I thought it was gone completely and probably just an industrial estate now. Is the airfield actually usable?

Re: Osprey by night

Fascinating, didn't know about these. Having a closer look I've seen tiny gaps in the 'streak' which I assume indicates the frequency of the power for the LED's. Not DC.

Re: Castle Air Museum unidentified aircraft

From memory it does remind me of a Neptune jet nacelle with the 'butterfly' doors open.
