Re: RIAT Sunday - 68 Photos (Updated - few more added)
Rich, Brilliant set! I am embarrassed to say that I have the same camera and lens, but certainly not the same photographs. Paul I think someone is using something special lens wise - surely not a straight (Canon) 100-400 on a 7D?? Also was everything shot at 1/50th @ F11 on 100 ISO then..?? :grr:

Re: RIAT Departure day
'Jordanian salute' is probably the best of all the RIAT airshow piccies I have seen.
It is very difficult to weave humanity in amongst the sterile, clinical heavy metal but that shot gives a lot. Brilliant.

Re: Riat 2012 - Saturday
Very good considering the appallingly crap weather (and car park disorganisation). I was very disappointed with the shots I took (probably ten 'keepers' out of 1200) and will be canning most if not all. It was a complete waste of time, money and energy for me. Plus I managed to trash the bike on th...

Re: RIAT 2012 - Risk of Cancellation?
I was being a little ironic... sorry if it went over everyone's head - like a lost B52 heading for Sainsburys car park at Farnborough rather than the runway at Fairford.... If it wasn't cancelled last year (it was darn appalling weather on the Saturday - I know - I stood in it for 7 hours - because ...

Re: Comedian Eric Sykes dies aged 89
He was a brilliantly quick witted comedian, comedic actor and writer and will be missed .... Who can forget his excellent portrayal as the poor downtrodden 'Courtney' next to Terry Thomas' Sir Percy Ware-Armitage, bt. in 'Those Magnificent men...' ...are there any of the 'greats' left ? (apart from ...

RIAT 2012 - Risk of Cancellation?
As it is likely to be drizzling slightly on Saturday - will the airshow be cancelled?
- I'm surprised it wasn't cancelled last year as the grass was very definitely nearly damp (*)
(actually I very nearly darn drowned while waiting outside the entrance 'marquee' to be searched..).

Re: Its happened again!
Sorry for your loss - it must be very frustrating and deeply upsetting to all those involved in trying to preserve our heritage. If not simply souvenir hunters or stealing for the scrap value then perhaps they are stealing to order. If so how many Jaguars are left and where are they located? - Would...

Re: Biggin Hill
Dave, you are aware the sun setts slightly further north of west at this time of year and will certainly come into play as it tracks. I think the schematic is also out by a few degrees. From experience you can expect the sun to be in your face all afternoon when viewing aircraft running in toward 03...

Re: Biggin Hill
Orientation of active runway does put sun in your eyes. Back in the day it always used to be wet and overcast so never an issue! If still allowed, you could stand outside the base at the end of the runway on the main Westerham Road. Good for final approach shots (right to left) with sun behind you. ...
