The last shot at Mildenhall shows how advanced the design was for the time and contrasts nicely with the typical cars we drove at the time, eg. Vauxhall Chevettes.

Excellent. All my pictures from Frankfurt have the USAF apron has the background, so it it's nice to see these gems with the civil side as the background.

Thanks for posting. Like many, I didn't bother pointing my camera skywards due to the orientation to the sun, hence plenty of runway shots featuring those metal posts for the barbwire. Thankfully scanning and Photoshop have recovered many messed up shots.

Excellent set. I missed this one as my sister was not an aviation fan and decided to get married that weekend!! I remember turning up at the previous Cottesmore RIAT in shorts and t-shirt and ended up buying fleece to get through the day.

Did the council ever give a logical reason for not wanting the the Heritage Centre on site. St Mawgan is pretty massive and would've thought it could accommodate many different multi use activities especially since the demise of the Virgin space venture?
