An unidentified Norwegian Merlin was outside at 11:30 this morning (Tuesday 21st).
ZZ102 read off from the bedroom window at 08:30. Also a new Italian HH-101 in the wash rack, and spam A-109 (G-DIDO)

Re: USAF USE OF PRESTWICK

I heard it was because the hotels in Ayrshire serve alcohol unlike the military quarter s at Mildenhall. Don't know if it is true but it sounds true. I do remember that back in the late 1980's, and early 90s, several conversations with crews at Mildenhall (often in Mickeys) indicated that the visit...

if using public transport how do we get to our site. I my be staying in yeovil. or would you suggest some where closer. chopper92 It's a bit out of the way - doubt you'll get a bus to it. The 96 Bus does go Crewkerne to Chard, but doesn't go up the A30 past the site. The 96A and 96C do, but are ver...

Very quiet about this deployment. Anyone got any updates??
No Shanwick or Santa Maria ALTRV's yet. It's a bit early, but if they ain't posted soon then it's unlikely they'll be arriving tomorrow - assuming they're coming from the states and not back from the Sand Pit.

43C911 up today as WHE01.

Would that be ZR359?
RN Merlin (ZJ124)/H was on the ramp this morning at 09:00 together with an Army Wildcat which may have been ZZ391? but not sure. Had a quick look again at 1PM, but haven't seen an Italian today.

Re: South Wales Aviation Museum Log

I went to an RAF St Athan "Battle of Britain Home day" in about 1984/5? Absolutely pelted down with rain all day, which wasn't ideal since I was on a push bike cycling from Barry Island docks to the airshow. Anyhow, that trip took me past Cardiff Rhoose Airport, which had a small museum, and onto St...

Seems very quiet at Yeovil last couple of days. Are they on a Easter shutdown?
Not seen anything outside so far this week, but there was a Houchin on the ramp this morning which normally indicates some Wildcat activity will happen.

Re: Daventry vs Westcott radar corridors

Westcott is FL230-240, and typically used for stuff climbing/descending into/out of East Anglia for transit to the south west. Daventry is FL100, and used for low level stuff going to south wales or the south west for a bit of sheep worrying, or inbound low level to Brize/Fairford. Bit of info here ...

Re: Yeovil (Westlands) Sightings Spring 2019

Thanks for that Freeman, according to previous posts 15-08 has been seen but without rotors in the wash rig. I have just checked my RadarBox log, WHE01 start time was 12.23 and end time was 15.00 which may mean that WHE01 was flying at 1400 so it is possible that today was the first flight of 15-08...

Re: UK Orders Wedgetails

After Haddon-Cave, I can't see MOD authorising any modifications to the fuel systems in E7/P8/RC135 unless it has OEM manufacturer backing and certification. I'm sure Boeing would happily take UK money to do so, but it wouldn't be cheap and is therefore unlikely. I've often wondered how we'd get P8 ...

One of 3 Tornados on the southside 'dump' at Marham in April 2006. Taken during a track day on the airfield. I remember one was coded "TAC", and there was a Canberra there too.

Re: RIP Brexit

It shouldn't matter what MPs want. They have been told what to do. If they don't do what the public do they are going to face an almighty political spanking and a swing to the right. Constitutionally, this is entirely wrong. In the UK, parliament is sovereign, not the people. The people cannot tell...
