Re: Another mass shooting in the USA

The right to bear arms is enshrined in their Constitution since the 18th Century before Automatic weapons were invented. It seems obvious to me that their law should be updated . For example we have the right to drive a vehicle on public roads but that vehicle must conform to vehicle inspection sta...

ZR360/(15-11) Merlin HH-101A Caesar is turning and burning as I type. Still got the MM serial covered and the UK serial in the normal place.

Re: Yeovil (Westlands) Sightings Summer 2019

Popped down at around 18:30 on the way home from work. They were just pulling a Noggie from the ramp and putting it in the hangar. 100% Read off as ZZ102. So I'd be nervous of claiming ZZ103 on the basis of an ICAO hex until/unless someone actually reads it off - could just be a box swap. Also on in...

Re: Yeovil (Westlands) Sightings Summer 2019

As I type, according to VR, Merlin 612 ZZ103 is flying as Phoenix 01, or rather WHE 01! Freeman ZZ102 [43C7DD] as up earlier as "WHE21", and there was a 'new' Italian in the wash rack at 08:45 - no rotors and only half the tail blades fitted. They were engine running a Norwegian on the ramp at arou...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

There was a period in the late '70's and early 80's when there were many more military aircraft around, and many more diverse types, but airshow circuit was full of Pitts special display teams - The Rothmans Pitts Specials, the Dunlop Pitts Specials, the Marlborough Pitts specials etc, etc. This pla...

Re: RIAT Parking

Carparks open at 6am, and the showground at 7:30. We normally aim to be in the carpark by 6:30-7am, and join the queue to get in ASAP after that. They use Airport style X-ray machines and hand scanners, so getting in can take a while - there is usually quite a big queue built up at security (probabl...

Re: LINTON FINAL GRADUATION

Off at a tangent a bit, but do/did the courses at Linton include night flying? Reason I ask is I heard a swarm of wasps over the house last night at about 10pm, and PP showed it was a Tucano, ZF515 (I think) Callsign LOP05 heading south west over Yeovil at low level then over Lyme Bay towards Exeter...

Hi All Is Pyle Lane accessible this evening (on the way down) or is it blocked off ? Non Local ! The roads are closed to vehicles (legally) till 8PM tonight.
