Re: North East Land, Sea & Air Museum (NELSAM) - Usworth

Echo the above we visited last year on the way back from hadrians wall and it was well worth the visit, I find the grass roots preservation museums the best as they show the hard work put in to getting the exhibits and the work in keeping them in a condition that shows care. My only regret is that t...

Re: Stalky little felines from way back

Thats what I call pleasure, and a cracking shot of my favourite aircraft from my days on 54, but she's in 6 colours which shows rotation of the whole fleet was common, but she now sports her original 54 scheme albeit in toned down horrid grey. And guise what I saw her today infact I see her every we...

Re: RAF Halton 1989

I was stationed there in 1980 sadly I didn't see inside the worksops, though we did holding flight on canberras in the hangars on the airfield side, and then for our flight line training we used JPs for all that side, it was fun. They used them to taxy down to the bottom of the hill on a multi see o...

Hey those shots are true crackers we at newark have just acquired XW208 puma HC1 and she will be open to view in the not to distant future, though at the moment she is incomplete but we will be looking to take her back to her original look. The puma is a lovely looking aircraft and is still going st...

Re: Lightnings at Cranfield

I nearly bought the nose of one but at that time £1400 was more use in buying a house, no regrets as I own a landy in full military guise and at least you can drive that though we all have dreams. Some one bought it, but it wasn't me and I have channelled my energies elswhere and I think may have do...

Re: Gate Guardians Samlesbury

Shame they went with the F35 as its not even British even though we've bought American before many times, but this heap of over priced rubbish just takes tax payers money to an other waste of money. I mean theres only enough space inside to put your sandwich box never mind munitions, oh well back to...

Re: The 'Spirit of Coltishall'

It hurts it really does, to see such a great place used for dumping ground for the low life in society from where once great feats of airmanship had set off against overwhelming odds and the ensuing years of the cold war. It was one of my homes and full of good people who worked on the big cat, I'm ...
