I’ve been told from a good source that the red tail 492nd hatter won’t be making the flypast on Sunday as it’s broken
2-3 days left to fix it? ;) To be honest any of the Heritage jets would be good, especially the flight-shy yellow-tail!

Re: Daks over Normandy: 2-5 June 2019@Duxford

From snippets read here, there & everywhere we can see that the US. contingent (already enroute) is missing some aircraft due to withdrawal, funding & mechanical issues. Add to that the Membury DC-3 "Night Fright" which is miles away from completion & clearly won't take part plus any others that jus...

Re: RAF to get second hand jets in wedgetail buy

Is the RAF that desperate that they are willing to accept any old bodge-up? Why does the UK seem to buy 'cheap' but ultimately pay more for their procurements?

Re: 65thAGRS to reform

So whose idea was it first? Use early otherwise redundant Typhoons as aggressor 'Batphoons' or use antique F-35 airframes as Aggressors because they are economically incompatible for the current computer upgrades? In either case, it's good news for us guys as we get to see something a little differe...

Re: Southsea Common flypast 5th June

Sorry chaps, but more thread dilution. When one takes account of the vast amount of money wasted on unnecessary 'Brexit Insurance' schemes thus far, penalty schemes for unfair contracts & now cancelling those, European Elections for what? & it becomes easier to justify an extra few Bucks per variant...

Re: Southsea Common flypast 5th June

They are just planes with numbers on to me at the end of the day but I agree I think the military should buy a mix of different variants such as F-35A/B The Sound of the 30+ Daks heading to Normandy will be incredible. Wonder if they will fly over Lee on Solent which was one of the WWII launch airf...

Re: Southsea Common flypast 5th June

You had to be fairly quick to see all the Tornado F2 before they were replaced by F3 I quite like the F-35B in service at Marham from a spotter point of view - the RAF fly them really well in the circuit with lots of low passes and different types of landing profiles. They are surprisingly fast in ...

Re: Southsea Common flypast 5th June

...........It would seem to make sense to me. Right there is the issue! Whatever we, the Commoners & part-time aviation aficionado's think would be best or appropriate never enters the thoughts of the primary organisers. Their motto..."Always expect the unexpected!" What can I possibly mean?.... ab...

Probably best not to speak to Locals, you won't know what they're sayin' anyway! Definitely don't accept sweets from anybody, or accept lifts from strange (all?) Tractor-drivers. If you end up in Crewkerne and think you see a 'Lady of the Night', be advised that most wear sheepskin coats!....

Re: IX (B) squadron "aggressors"

Don't get too excited about any Aggressor paint-schemes. These are hard times for Defence Budgets, best you can hope for is a red tail-fin vinyl sticker with added lettering 100 Years "of Bad Guys" !
Gotta use-up that 'expensive' leftover stock from last year somehow?

This doesn't sound too good :- Badger sett leads to three-month Kempsford road closure. Burrowing badgers have removed so much earth from beneath a road it has been closed due to risk of collapse. Intensive structural repairs are needed to 150m of country lane between Kempsford and Hannington Wick ...
