Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2024

Same here. This is a charge made by the organiser's bankers to the organisers. It is surely just another cost of the event and that should have been taken into account when determining the fee payable by all particpants. I have paid the required €40 from my bank account.

Re: NFL London Flypasts (October 2021)

Having seen many “ USAF flypasts” in the UK over many years, it wouldn’t surprise me if they went over the Emirates Stadium instead😱😱😱 I would be more than happy to hear dates, locations and details if you have time. P. A long time ago, but I certainly remember being at Upper Heyford circa 1971 and...

Re: Solent Sky Museum

When you go around the museum, you begin to realise just how many aircraft companies were based in the local region.

Re: Bradley New England Air Museum

A nice reminder of my trip there in October 2017. However, we arrived there late in the afternoon and most outdoor exhibits were the victim of some awkward shade. However, the museum is first class and obviously has some well heeled backers.

Visited there in 2013 when they still hadn't put the 134 together. It was a delightful place with well presented aircraft.

(30) The Hunting H.126 is at Le Bourget, Paris in June 1965. The attached photo does show it parked next to Jet Provost which is also visible in your shot. https://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1965/1965%20-%202888.html?search=hunting%20paris Its only other public appearance was at Gaydon in ...

As for the Heron - no that is a Royal Navy one, and the BBMF had a Dove rather than a Heron.

(2) This B-25 Mitchell is actually N7614C and this shows it at Luton circa 1971. (3) This An-12 CCCP-11719 looks like Heathrow. It visited there in July 1970. (8) Sea Hawk FGA.6 WV828 coded 037, could well be Lee on Solent (9) another Sea Hawk, probably Lee on Solent also. (11) Westland Whirlwind at...

Black and white film must have been considerably cheaper than Kodachrome as there's no way I could have afforded to take all those Lightning shots in my young days!
I'm glad you did though and thank you for sharing such a great array of aircraft.

Re: USS Intrepid Museum New York

Very nice photos. I totally agree with you on the mix of aircraft. For example, the MB339 has very little to do with New York City or the US. At least the Etendard is a naval aircraft! When I visited in October 2016, both these types were on deck, but the Skyraider was in the hangar undergoing resto...
