Re: Will Sunak Survive Until The Election
The recurring mess within British politics is a manifestation of an increasingly out of date, antiquated, unfit for modern day governance of a country. Unless and until the British Westminster system of government is replaced by proportional representation , a system whereby seats in the Commons ar...

Re: Will Sunak Survive Until The Election
Oh I have no doubts that Labour will be a disaster. If we get through one term and they don’t bankrupt the country it will be a surprise. However, just blindly wanting the conservatives to remain in power forever, no matter how bad they are turns the country into a virtual dictatorship. They need a ...

Re: Will Sunak Survive Until The Election
The tories are imploding and it couldn’t happen to a better bunch! I will have to put on some kind of girdle for the election just to stop my sides from splitting with laughter seeing their horrendous demise .

Particularly in the skill of bowling Yorkers. Wi batsmen walking across stumps waiting for the half track slow ball, of which Sam Curren in particular duly delivered. I would suggest a rest for him, I think he might have a neck strain anyway watching all the massive sixes being smashed off his bowli...

Re: Cricket ODI World Cup India 2023
Like it or not, with the Big bash, IPL and the 100, the shortest form of cricket is here to stay. It’s finally a place where cricketers can earn a decent living, more akin to other sports. Therefore If I was the ECB I would scrap the 50 over game, they are just a boring version of twenty20. I would ...

As someone who is an RFP writer, albeit not in the aviation industry, I can assure it’s not yuk speak, and it’s very standard procedure, especially in the finance industry. However, as others have said, it’s all pointless as they will just buy Boeing anyway!

Too many potholes  Is that part still concrete. Used to be many areas 20 or 30 years ago With concrete dual carriage ways and motoways. Since the end of the cold War most have been tarmacadam over them. As been said thou, still lots of dissused airfields about.the last Dispercial exercise I ca...

Re: Why is it raining so much?
Not sure about St Swithens day, but I do think there are some weather related old wives tales that make sense. I still think the rain before 7, clear by 11 mostly works. I am no weather expert, but I remember seeing a weather report that said the jet stream is ultimately the main contributing factor...

Re: British F-35Bs To Bring Vertical Landing Abilities To Highways
Surely if the situation in Europe and the wider theatre of operations deteriorated our forces could use The facilities of the aircraft manufacturers who have the hardened runways etc When the missiles start flying, presumably Warton et al would get tw*tted, a la Motor Sich in Ukraine. So you’d need...

Re: British F-35Bs To Bring Vertical Landing Abilities To Highways
🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦 What a daft plan There must be several score of WW2 airfields that have concrete runways that do not have the potholes on current roads. Perhaps the RAF could consider a few of those before making our current roads worse and causing further delays. Yep, plus there is always RAF Scampton, if...

Re: The Ashes 2023
Australia reminding us all the difference between a military medium attack versus a genuine quick pace attack. Of course there is nothing wrong with our pace attack, but it is a bit samey, whereas Australia always have bowlers well over 6ft who are capable of bowling at 90 mph, and who are not afrai...

Re: RAF discrimination
It’s funny how it doesn’t work the same when it’s the other way around. I haven’t seen any announcements from the heads of the nursing industry or infant schools saying we have to positively discriminate to ensure we hire more men in those roles. Have you actually looked? https://www.bradford.ac.uk...

Re: Mildenhall Crash (car not plane)
One of those scum took a hammer and chisel to our office building and caused about 80k worth of damage. I am sure they didn’t see the irony of how much CO2 has now gone into the atmosphere having to ship in replacement glass and all the other work required to fix the damage. I wouldn’t mind, but the...

Re: Lakenheath surge sectors question
One of the reasons I love walking the Norfolk coastal path is that you can frequently watch the F15s doing ACM, especially around the Holcomb and Wells area. I have to say, they are not always that high either, we once even stopped the car south of the coast as two F15s were pulling some serious mov...

The guy admitted he was high on cocaine, nearly kills an innocent person, who escapes serious injury by luck, and gets the equivalent of a slap on the wrist. What do you have to do to get an actual custodial sentence in this country?

Re: Pledge allegiance?
I am joining you C24, and am very much enjoying the Super Rugby rather than watching the Coronation! I have mixed feelings about the whole monarchy. How someone can be considered superior just because of the mother they fell out of seems sick and fundamentally wrong. On the other hand, the is a line...
