Nice set with nice variety in the low flying area.
Volkel indeed was slow on wednesday (was there too in the morning), something called hindsight would have told you to go on tuesday, which saw 7 F-16's flying in the afternoon.

Bart

Re: Upgrade to mirrorless or full frame?
Very hard to give an advice on what you need? Because that all depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend. I used to have a 7d mkii along with a 5d mkii which provided great overlap anywhere from 24 to 400 (x1.6)mm. Bought an R6 3 years ago an loved it from the start. The speed, ...

Not a farewell, but if felt like one
At 8 december 2023 the RNLAF together with SG Volkel organized a spottersday at Volkel. During registration it was not yet clear what to expect, but it was going to be something with F-16's. It turned out we where invited to witness a readiness excercise with a full flight line of F-16's. As one mig...

Re: CVN-71 USS Theodore R Roosevelt back in'96
The KR64 was good in good (loads of sun) light. In our northern European circumstances the lack of ISO didn't really help. Getting a decent shutter speed in combination with a apparature that was at the lens' sweet spot often proved hard during long periods of the year imho. But as a teenager/studen...

Re: CVN-71 USS Theodore R Roosevelt back in'96
Thanks a million for the extensive reply Kev. I will certainly use that to rework this series of scans. I found a workflow on the internet using Ai to correct colours and that showed some really good result, but I am still working on CS6 ( yeah I know) so that is not an option. I will repost once ha...

CVN-71 USS Theodore R Roosevelt back in'96
Scanned some slides of a visit to the Roosevelt at the 2nd day of Christmas back in '96. She was moored outside Cannes. A nightly car trip to southern France brought us to the harbour where we were picked up early morning with a boat that took us to the carrier. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5...

Re: Micro Four Thirds opinions sought
You obviously are not opting for a Canon system. If weight is the issue have you ever picked up an R6 (or so) with an RF800? It might surprise you how thatvfeels and obviously the image quality isn' half bad either.

Re: F-16's in winter conditions @ Volkel
Great photos. I shall miss the Falcon / Viper. When will she retire ? September 27th will be the date. 24 were operational untill last december, this will be reduced to 12 in the next couple of months. With the main runway unservicable from second half of februari until late august we should be abl...

Atlantic resolve at Eindhoven
Was able to spent two mornings at Eindhoven during Atlantic Resolve. As often in this time of year weather at Eindhoven wasn't great. 16-11 saw the first 5 Blackhawks in for a gas-and-go on their way to the harbour of Vlissingen for shipment back to CONUS. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5343756...

Re: Eindhoven and Volkel 23-24 November 2023
Thanks Oh yes I hadn't noticed that - i had a similar issue with my Konya photos where the taxyway looked on the slant ( I just hold my phone at the supplementary angle to compensate:) ) Straightening your pictures really is a 30 second job only in photoshop, no need to slant your tv screen anymore...

As every year I attended the Market Garden Memorial at the Ginkelse Heide. So as every year, I am going to bother you with a couple of pictures.
