From Ginkel heath to Hechtel-Eksel 21-09-2024
Almost half a year ago, but only just finished editing. The 21st of september was the last day of a very interesting week that saw loads of action related to the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden and a nice Spottersday at Kleine Brogel on the friday. A long day that deserves an extensive p...

101st AB Division Assault Demo - Eerde 17-09-2024
Back in september the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden was held. As I live in that area I took a couple of days of to visit some of the commemorations and events that took place during that week. Not all aviation related, but all very interesting. At the 17th of september there was an Air...

BHT at the GLV-V 22-05-2024
Already back in may, a BHT (Basic Helicopter Training) with Dutch marines was done at the GLV-V. The record amount of rain fall since last summer has turned the area into a mud-pit. The normally very dry and dusty sandy soil is just soaked. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53898895017_8d111a6498_...

Vlb Gilze-Rijen 24-04-2024
At the 24th of April an 'English Invasion' was expected at Gilze-Rijen, with a number of Chinooks, Apaches and Wildcats coming by for a refuel on their way to Finland. Headed out early to catch the first flight of Dutch Apaches going out. The first new Dutch E's I managed to catch. https://live.stat...

Re: Netherlands 8-12 April 2024 (GLV5, Eindhoven, Volkel)
Nice set with nice variety in the low flying area.
Volkel indeed was slow on wednesday (was there too in the morning), something called hindsight would have told you to go on tuesday, which saw 7 F-16's flying in the afternoon.
Regards,
Bart

Re: Upgrade to mirrorless or full frame?
Very hard to give an advice on what you need? Because that all depends on what you want and how much you are willing to spend. I used to have a 7d mkii along with a 5d mkii which provided great overlap anywhere from 24 to 400 (x1.6)mm. Bought an R6 3 years ago an loved it from the start. The speed, ...

Not a farewell, but if felt like one
At 8 december 2023 the RNLAF together with SG Volkel organized a spottersday at Volkel. During registration it was not yet clear what to expect, but it was going to be something with F-16's. It turned out we where invited to witness a readiness excercise with a full flight line of F-16's. As one mig...

Re: CVN-71 USS Theodore R Roosevelt back in'96
The KR64 was good in good (loads of sun) light. In our northern European circumstances the lack of ISO didn't really help. Getting a decent shutter speed in combination with a apparature that was at the lens' sweet spot often proved hard during long periods of the year imho. But as a teenager/studen...

Re: CVN-71 USS Theodore R Roosevelt back in'96
Thanks a million for the extensive reply Kev. I will certainly use that to rework this series of scans. I found a workflow on the internet using Ai to correct colours and that showed some really good result, but I am still working on CS6 ( yeah I know) so that is not an option. I will repost once ha...
