Re: Perfect Timing.
Good few years ago at Oshkosh, watching the F.22 doing it's thing, with the usual ghastly commentary. Guy next to me said we [the U.K.] hadn't got anything similar. I produced my R.A.F Benevolent Credit Card, which had a picture of a Typhoon on it. He and his 'knowledgeable friends' had never heard ...

Re: Tampa Bay Airfest
Also seen them up close at Dayton Show and others. Good to watch the ground stuff once. I remember getting a lot of praise from the Americans nearby when Dave Reader and I noticed a family with small kids behind us. We moved them in front of us because it was their team, not ours. Got applause from ...

Watched The Thunderbird Demo live. Was almost reaching for the sick bucket at one point. They were so wonderful, awe inspiring, brave Top Americans, the finest airmen ever.. awesome, motivated. I could go on...... I had to laugh when the robotic ground-crew removed their sunglasses in formation... I...

A very fine actor indeed!!. The Drill Sergeant in 'An Officer and a Gentleman' for which he won an Oscar for the 'Best Supporting Actor'. The first black man to win this award.

Read somewhere that Karoon Chandok, Naomi S. and Natalie P. were not going to be back at tracks until Miami in May although Rachel, Ted and Martin will be there all the time.

Re: Band Of Brothers Documentary
I have both boxed sets. Episode 9 of B of B was one of the most powerful pieces of television I have seen [Discovering the Concentration Camp]. My wife found it very difficult to watch. Very lump in the throat time. Agree with Red about Pacific.

Re: Band Of Brothers Documentary
What an amazing piece of television this series was!!. Arguably the best ever. If any of you have not yet seen it, I urge you to make the effort to do so. By pure coincidence, I was dancing [ballroom] last night, and the last waltz was to the evocative theme music. Superb.

Two types of pilots.... Those who can fly, and those who can't. He was definitely the former.

Re: Steve Canyon
Agree with Roughcutter. Pretty gung-ho and corny, but some very unseen [by me] footage from way back when. Ignore everything apart from the aircraft. Very dubious flying techniques for an 'Ace Pilot' like putting the flaps and gear fully down way to early in his C.130 when doubtful of making the run...

RJAF silver 2 seater flew past my cruise ship in Aqaba harbour 6 years ago. Lovely sight and sound. Very close to the ship.
