Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June

I haven't been to a Duxford Show since the IWM saw fit to ditch 'Friends of Duxford'. My wife worked for nine years serving tea, coffee etc. in the Members enclosure, but when it was taken over by the IWM, things went RAPIDLY downhill!!. She left, I now only go to the pre- show days Thursday and Fri...

Re: F1 2025

Lando is very quick, but he needs to be a bit more mature in his driving in order to become a World Champion. Too many mistakes.

Re: Israel strikes Iran nuclear facilities.

Years ago, I went with a group to look at the Israeli Air force. It was a superb trip, but I felt really uncomfortable withe the constant 'we are always on a war footing here' attitude. It seems that the country could never be wrong it whatever it did or who they killed. It was not a pleasant atmosp...

I have a delightful English civilian Lakenheath worker living opposite me who has heard nothing [yet] about loosing her job. By coincidence we both live in Bungalows that were built for the American Officers at Mildenhall and Lakenheath in 1976.

Reported earlier on another site. Video of the Orion entering what looked like a stall and spin at low altitude. Sad.

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June

I go to pre-Airshow days these days.As an oldie, been going for 40 plus years [and my wife worked there on Airshow days for 9 years]. As a consequence of that I got a free pass for show days. I don't see anything new these days, so quite happy with what I do [I am a member}. However, for anyone goin...

Re: Military Airshow 2025 - Shuttleworth Collection

I'm not a photographer, but these are some of the best shots I've seen recently. I loved the close up of the Anson. Spent some time in the right-hand seat of Ansons in my A.T.C. days. [That dates me somewhat!!.] Regards, John.

Very difficult to discipline someone who doesn't give a damn about peoples opinions. He would just walk away if it suits him [and probably will, and the sooner the better!!.]

Re: F1 2025

If a driver accumulates 12 penalty points over a 12 m0nth period, then he may receive a 1 race ban.. Ask Kevin Magnussen. He received a 1 race ban for having 12 points last season. Verstappen needs to be very careful now. Points remain on your licence for 12 months Hedge. If you receive a ban, then ...

Re: F1 2025

What a petulant pr..k. Throwing away Constructors Points worth much money!! and ruining [I hope} his chances of the Drivers Championship. Wish Ferrari and Lewis would sort out the car's rear!!!. He is 1 License Point away from a race ban with much of the year to go.

Re: Electricity meter certificate expired

I don't have a Smart meter, but I do have solar panels. Am bombarded with 'Energy Efficiency' calls mostly twice a day. Didn't know there were so many energy 'experts' out there, wanting to check this, wanting to check that!. I can tell that they are working at their full capacity, so don't spend mu...

Re: Air Force Elite Thunderbirds

Just a bit of detail.. The Indian Springs accident was not caused by someone being out of position. A line abreast loop was being performed. Everybody is looking right towards the leader to keep their position. On the downside of the loop, the leader [as per official report] had an elevator malfunct...
