Raf aircraft on static display
I'm abit puzzled in the thinking behind the parking of Raf aircraft for static display and flying display. The Red Arrows were way over on the otherside of the airfield where no one could watch them do the pre-display walk round, strap in and blues see off. The Typhoon display jet 'black jack' also ...

Parking at Scampton
Heard today from a friend of mine who does work for the farmer who owns the land at the 22 end at Scampton. He is going to erect a fence and gates at the end of the road to the farmhouse to stop people parking all over his field and walking up to the fence through his crops. Everyday this week I hav...

Re: Current Reds Hawks
XX306 is still supposed to be Scamptons gate guard at some point in the future the pads are ready outside the station head quarters. I've been told that if the Reds hadn't been in Cyprus last March 2013 the museum would of never got the Gnat which used to stand outside the Reds hangar.

Hello scotty2681, you have heard of the saying "ships that pass in the night"? Since the October prior to the Harriers leaving home I too have spent many very cold days up around the airfield. Great viewing. Hello C24, I've probably spoken to you and not known who it is. Its great watching the wint...

Re: Visiting Scampton in 2014? Please read!
I have had a run in with said farmer last year and when Lewis Hamilton had his F1 car there and he was racing RED 10. He had a "talk" with me about parking on the verge which was fair enough he's not the nicest of blokes to deal with, This was the first time in 14 years I'd seen him up there. I usua...
