Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

Personally I think it’s good there is a big variety of different displays. Some people (myself included) are only there for the one day, at leat with a variety of displays there are bound to be some things I can see elsewhere at other air shows (RAF Typhoon for example) or I’m not really interested ...

What is viewing like at Shawbury?
Viewing is good - but the jets have all been hangared (because of the adverse weather) - it’s thundering like crazy at the moment at at Shawbury.

Arthur
Ok thanks. Considering heading over Sunday for an hour or so as passing the area.

Tornados in the flypast, that will do me 😊, let's hope there's not a thunderstorm again!
Agreed. The one think I wanted at RIAT was another opportunity to see an airborne Tornado 😊

I think apart from the Hawk T.1 & T.2 fleet (and the odd Tucano), the RAF are not aware that Warton exists! :P
Even then the Tucano’s seem to favour Blackpool airport. The Tornado’s used to visit although I would have thought Typhoons would visit more often.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

In terms of the static line up, are you allowed entry into the aircraft? For example into the cargo bays of C-17, C-130 etc? Last year was amazing the amount of aircraft you could get aboard, it just depends on the crew but the answer to your question is yes you can get aboard some aircraft, I was ...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

I wonder if any other War Birds will be announced? For either flying or static always good to see the older airframes as much as jet fighters. Does anyone think the F-4 Phantom might appear this year? As that's always a great aircraft to see wont be around for too much longer so would be great to s...

What's Duxford like for stalls? I am hoping to (and my bank account isn't) to get quite a few models.
There was a few decent stalls selling Airfix / Revell type kits back at the Battle of Britain air show last year. Had some rare / discontinued kits as well so it’s worth a rummage

Re: Duxford Air Festival 25th - 26th May 2019

Judging from my experience at the Battle of Britain air show last year, the planning / logistics side of the air show is very poor. Massive queues and not enough shuttle buses from the park and rides, the stewards weren’t exactly the most helpful and seemed a bit clueless as to which buses were goin...
