Assuming it won’t hang around and will depart once it’s unloaded?

Re: Cost of RAF Aircraft (Flying and Static)

Wonder if I could book a typhoon flying display for a wedding? Technically it would be an air show as multiple people could view it!... I wish!

Re: Griffin over Padstow on 30/08/2019

They were from the Cobham helicopter school based at Newquay airport. No idea on serials though, I spotted them from where I was staying and also whilst at the airport viewing the Osprey.

Re: Will be passing Tuesday 11 September

Am I right in thinking the Qatar jets will begin to be manufactured once the final RAF one has been delivered? Any ideas whether it’s likely to be the hawks or Typhoons first?

Re: log 26-8 upto 4-9

What is viewing and accessibility like at Gando? I’m in Gran Canaria next month on a holiday and I’m thinking of heading over. Are there any spots you’d recommend and are the police / military generally okay with spotters?

Re: Exercise Cobra Warrior Action away from Base

Like I said in an earlier post, the Israelis tried to enter low level at Cumbria last week either before or after a visit to Spadeadam. I wouldn’t put money against them trying again.

Re: Exercise Cobra Warrior Action away from Base

The Israelis tried for Cumbria LL today but couldn’t drop down due to low cloud / rain. They worked Spadeadam first apparently.

That’s absolutely terrific! Thank you, I’d be most awfully grateful if I’d be able to have a glimpse at your shots, bet they’re superb!
PM me with an email address and I’ll send them over.

I’ve got some but not checked the quality yet. Only just back from holiday down there and not had chance to download the SD card.

Re: Osprey

Flight crew appear to be boarding now. Cockpit covers still on though but I’d imagine they’re departing soon.

Edit 14:00 - cockpit covers now off, all equipment loaded on board and saying bye to airfield crew.

ASCOT155

ASCOT155 (ZH874) looks to be inbound, it’s following the same flight path the A400m has the past few days.

Technicians working on it tonight. Went down around an hour ago and they were working in the right-hand engine.

Re: Osprey

Don’t know whether it’s coincidence but there is a USMC KC-130J coming down the west coast of wales at 21k ft. Maybe heading here as support for the Osprey if it has gone tech? That is the C130 that collected the MV22s from Prestwick the other day. So there’s a chance it may join this one at Newquay?

Any news on a departure time? Planning to come down this evening after work. Any info would be greatly appreciated
I left the airport around 30 mins ago and it was still visible near aerohub with covers over the cockpit glazing. No personnel visible so can’t see it moving any time soon.
